We are a group of runners with a wide range of both ability and experience, who get together on Saturday mornings (usually Beckenham Junction station) to run.
If you want to join us, all you have to do is turn up. Keep an eye on this thread for where our next meet will be. Or mail me for details.
So, the first May run will be tomorrow - 3 May - 8.30am at Beckenham Junction station for five miles(ish).
Happy running.

Are you OK still to meet up at 7.45 a.m. at the golf club to run to Beck?
JJ
Snoops, David's plans have changed and he hasn't gone today. She is a bit better and so he is going tomorrow after lunch, so I will see you at 7.45 as planned.

I at least know from the mobiles that you made it to back to Petts Wood, was the timely mobile call a help?
Tex Mex at Burger King was ok but would have preferred a Chineese, have to leave the pub earlier next time.
Have a good run this morning.
Seyhoos treat him gently!
Snoops, I can't find the thread we were discussing. Can you email me where to find it?

Let us know how you do.
Hope you had a good time Snoops.
I ran the Hildenboro 10 with Donna (who won a medal for being second senior lady home!!).
Nice run in pleasant countryside.
How did the other BJ's racing today get on?
Hope everyone else had a good time.
Glad you're feeling better now.
The Ted Pepper 10K was hard work. Laps are definitely dull, particularly when the fast finishers end their 3rd as I was about to start my 3rd. I'm still waiting for an official time.
Decided I am not too keen on laps - ran past my parked car three times - was seriously tempted to get into it and go home the second time I went past it. Had it not been for Meg also being in the race, I might well have done!!
Will have to up my training - a half marathon seems no nearer my ability now than four months ago.
Big congratulations to Donna - fantastic.

Don't be disheartened Jo! I actually came last in a 10K which had 3 laps - I think it's something psychological about having to run round in circles you sort of lose the will to run especially when you get lapped or see the people walking home whilst you're still going!!!!!
By the way,I just looked in my training log from when I first came along to the Beckenham group and we did 4.5 miles in 1hr 6 mins! Now we can do a 10K in less than that so you're definitely closer to that 1/2 marathon goal.
Well done Donna (I feel rather aggrieved at being 24 and classed as a senior)!
The thing is not to let it get to you, but take the 'c'est la vie' approach and carry on - that's why we have a support group going.
You need to get out there three times a week now if you are going for a half in the Autumn - 15 to 18 miles a week is your target within a month. Starting Wednesday!!
And well done you both (Meg & Jo) for getting there.
At the moment, that looks good, but will confirm at the weekend. Went out last Tuesday morning and got three quarters of the way up it before walking!
To add insult to injury neither of us are mentioned on the Ted Pepper results page - I've sent a stern mail off!!! Not only was it hard, with no medal or t-shirt at the end, but then our very existence in the race is denied!
Heartened, but also puzzled that the guy who came second had also considered chucking it at the end of lap 2. So, it's not just the tail-enders that feel this way.

Now you are the only one of us who has been a winner its time for you to start leading the groupt with your training programme.
Sonia O' Sullivan watch out you have a competitor.
I'll be back next week though.

Anyone up for a later one on Saturday, or an early one on Sunday - 7.30 to 8 a.m. ish?
