Welcome - Its quite busy in here normally.
Never mind the actual 26.2 mile race though. Join in the merriment that happens either side of the race.
This will be my third consecutive Dublin Marathon so I feel like an old hand at this.

Must be time to put the kettle on.......
I'm here, still coughing and spluttering but did a nice 6 miles this morning. Aren't the trees a great colour at the moment?
Go on tell us where you're running instead.
so here i am
i fancy the triple next year!
It's nice and cosy MrH and all the gang! I'll be hanging around here daily, not sure if I'm doing the Dublin marathon yet but I'm aiming for Cork.
...I haven't got any kids mind you!
And you'd better blank out the pain if you're going to do 3 laps in Luton - ha ha
You have mail
Right, off to the gym to work off my Galaxy Bar!
i will definately be doing Dublin again next year.
got the email invite. I know i will do another. Maybe i'll come
It's going to be a toss up up between Abingdon and Dublin.
(Don't say both)
Decisions decisions
I know I was only a post 9,000 thread hanger on but well done to everyone on their great races.
I just can't wait to do next year but am having awful problems with my knee. Tried to run again tonight but thought I was going to throw up with pain.
Sorry to wreck the lovely cups-of-tea and hob-nobs buzz but was hoping to hear a. if this was normal b. is it just my knee thats decided running isn't for it anymore?
LR I'm no expert, but that much pain sounds like something for a physio look at...
Took my lovely physio his box of guiness chocolates and a thank you card last week - he gave me a couple of extra sessions to make sure I could start the mara....aw bless....
My feet are killing me, but not from the real marathon two weeks ago, but from this pretend one HH and I've been in this week.... we've spent the last two days but Tower Bridge nearly crossing the start line. Ah well, tis all done now, and my fledgling hollywood career (cough splutter) comes to an end. *cue violins dahlink*
I've learnt that:
-there are a lot of strange people in the world (last week I met a man who does pidgeon impressions...)
-some members of the public think that dressing like a marathon runner involves wearing tiny pink hotpants and full make-up
-that i have quite a low bimbo-tolerance level....when hotpants-mascara lady said she had to be filmed in the sun because it warmed her bum it took all my willpower not to agree loudly that it was important she kept her brain warm
-standing around freezing for four days hurts more than running for five hours
-there's a five o'clock in the morning as well as the one in the evening! who'd have guessed!
Off for a nice hot bath and a lie in tomorrow morning - yay! :-)
Then back to real life :-(
...after all, I have unfinished business with the butterscotch and toblerone cheesecake at Luigi's...!
Musings on cold weather training...the temperature has dropped, there is frost in the air, lots of rain and yet...there are blokes out running in t shirts and shorts...I wonder if there are lots of people with no windows (so they can't actually see the weather) or...they have no tv (so they can't hear what the weather is goin to be like) or...they have no sense!...answers on a post card!
However, I may be doing a another marathon (possibly Nottingham) as an official pacer for Team Tractor.
What are you like? By the time you get to the end of October after August you will be entering the Dublin and running your best marathon time ever......So you may as well sign up now.............:o)
Remember the marathon's just the cool down after a few hours on the bike in an Ironman!!
