Managed a 10km run <major achievement considering the excesses of last night> this afternoon along my usual route along a popular section of the Northumberland coastline. Where runners, dog owners & cyclist exist in perfect harmony…..most of the time. Thing is I still prefer to run in shorts & must of passed a dozen runners, all donned in trackies or lycra. Why? Suppose you will all come back with keeping the muscles warm blar, blar. But I defiantly prefer the freedom of shorts. & lets be honest, it an't that cold @ the moment.

Saw a lady out running today in cotton full-length trousers, and a big cotton sweatshirt. AND she overtook me. C*w.
Plodding Hippo- why not run in shorts?
Most I run in is thin tights instead of shorts to help keep a bitter wind off, otherwise it's shorts
But shorts in the winter.. no. I'll leave that to the guys lol
Mr Siance who wears shorts even when it's snowing thinks I'm mad and should 'just get them out'.
I put it down to to too much body fat :-(
Below 5 degrees its leggings
below 10 degrees it's wind and rain dependent
Above 10 and it's shorts.
I suppose that a pace factor will also enter my mind too. I won't race in leggings.
If it is cold I just try to up my core temp with an xtra top. Last year ran 3 miles of one half mara holding my gonads because they were about to drop off with the cold (to may peoples amusement). Other than that it is always ok. Was only cold because I was pacing someone and could not speed up to warm myself.
