Can anyone recommend a pair of 3/4 length tights? I've been searching on the web without too much success, so before I cut down a old pair of Ronhills as anyone any suggestions.
Just got some asics ones from Start Fitness on 'tinternet for £10 - but they are crap. Use some ace Salomon ones (got them from Cotswold Outdoor). Not cheap, but worth it.
pah - you're all ante-diluvian sticks in the mud...........wear something interesting for a change................you should all try 3/4's at some time
Have only recently purchased a pair of full length running tights (Nike Dri fit). Took a bit of time for me to pluck up the courage to wear them out running. Only regret I have is not having done it sooner! Very comfortable, keep your leg muscles warm (less risk of muscular strains/pulls) - a must for winter running.
Hi all, I must admit, I had to switch to running tights/lycra due to running through winter. I own a set of Asics Nagano's. As for the 3/4 debate, mine are full length, but slightly half mast due to my height! (but not enough to look like 3/4!) I can't say I've seen many 3/4 on sale - probably for a reason.
The only problem I have with running tights is, about 10-15 mins into the run, my leg hair starts to poke through as the lycra stretches and retracts!?! Not the best sight in the world. I suppose real athletes must have this problem, or shave their legs?
I debate what to wear under my running tights. I tend to wear normal running shorts, but these tend to ruffle up on longer runs. I have thought of getting some of those 'special' running briefs/undies, but can't say the VPL on a bloke would look good! (not that running in tights does) Any thoughts.
By the way, I have seen blokes running in SPANDEX 3/4's. Not good!
I wear lycra cycling shorts in the summer and tights in the winter. Majority of women runners wear them and it is simply because they are the best for running in. So any guys out ther who haven't tried them I reckon your missing out. Just get over the initial "fear" and once you've tried them you won't look back.

Its just plain wrong
if a fat old fecker like me can wear 3/4 tights (Quechua) then so can anyone...........
they aren't easy to find but Craft/Quechua/Salomon and I think Nike do 3/4.............
they are great for wet offroad as the bottom of the full length tights get soggy, muddy and thus heavy............
jeezus - lots of cyclists wear 3/4 tights (me included) so why not runners???
Got myself all kitted out a couple of weeks ago with new clothing in anticipation of my first outside run, including tights (ankle length mind .
Won't be wearing them again, I can tell you
I think it's the name that puts me off, tights and leggings are things that girls wear.
;O))
just call them long lycras!
3/4 length is just a bit Eastbourne
[sorts out Mouldy's toof problem....]
<pulls a gimp suit out of the dressing up box for FB>
