Hi SH, Yes still living /running (v.slowly)in Uddi causing a pavement hazard to old women with shopping trolleys & old men with walking sticks. Often run past the Tunnocks factory too. The smell of fudge and coconut always makes my stomach rumble............
HI Im a runner from malta, interested in running, the great scottish, can you please tell me if the course is flat and fast;cause im looking for a fast race to improve my pb of 1hr 14 mins, thanks much in advance.I really appreciate it if you can help. REGARDS
It's pretty flat Jason...a wee hill within the first mile...and another in the park... Paris is flatter...but Glasgow is cool, in every sense of the word. Err..Amsterdam in October might be your best bet.
Hi atm Thanks for reply, sorry but what does wee mean?easy or tough. And is the one in the park tough, because if those are the only two hills and the rest is flat,I think it will be ok,cause besides the race I like to visit scotland, always if the race suits me, thanks for helping me,because Im in a moment,of deciding which race I do
Jason - "wee" means small - there really are no hills worth mentioning in this one - and that comes from someone who hates hills!
Definitely a PB course (for me anyway) and really friendly with lots of support. It can get a bit congested further back in the pack, but with a target of under 1:14, you shouldn't get held up.
SH, you gone all posh then moving there? I am impressed with your plans for next year - I am not worthy! Would take me about a day and a half to run a marathon! I'm doing the girly 10K in a couple of weeks and after that, I don't know. My running buddy has sort of given up, and as we used to go to races together, I'm feeling a bit down.
Will be my 3rd year at the GSR. Love it and the one permanent fixture in my running calender. Hope the organisers look at the race reviews on this site - pretty much everything was excellent apart from the Bridge congestion and post race chaos at the Green. I did send them an email and link to the reviews - I'd presume any race organiser worth their salt would like at the feedback? Anyway, I'd recommend the GSR to anyone whos not sure. The thing that makes it for me is the support of the crowd.
Hi All! GSR is my 'home' half and when I did it last year was my first, so perhaps I'm biased but it is better than Jedburgh or Bath - and there my experience ends..
I'm looking forward to it, big time.
I'm from Both too Kara! Probably plodded past you and SH many a time!

I've entered online and looking forward to it already
Wouldn't miss it for the world.
This year will be my 8th on the trot. I love it.
Hari - yes it does go over the bridge. In the wrong direction. )
I'll be in this providing I can egt my knee fixed. I've only ever done the 10K so I'd like to try to half this year.
Nessie - I stay 10 min from the factory think we should break in......
I noticed that the women are getting a discount for doing a 10k and the 1/2
but the guys ar'nt ---why
ermm no idea
:-)
[tries to decide whether to slap Hari for the weaker sex comment given where he lives.....]
Think about the wafer.....
1 Caramel Log
1 Tunnocks Tea Cake
1 Caramel Wafer

SFC - Where do you stay in Both..?
Are you a member of any local clubs..?
Live near castle. Joined Esporta but only ran with the club there twice. Was considering Ham H or Strath Striders.
You?
