Our office is merging with another and I need to make an impact.....and no I'm not going as Sam Fox!!! I haven't the boobs for that and certainly don't want to make that much of an impact! Any ideas would be very appreciated
Pink I thought about Madonna, Material Girl. Then I went on to think about Toyah, Cyndi Lauper and Claire Grogan??? What about Adam Ant? Think it would be cool to go as a boy!
1981 saw the opening of Cats in London, so go as a cat. The 1980s also saw the fashion industry geared towards new romanticism, with its flamboyant frills - designer Vivienne Westwood styling. 1984 saw Band Aid, so go as Bob Geldof - that would be funny...back combed hair etc, no need to wash... in fact don't wash for a week!
went to an 80s party as Adam Ant last year - most of the girls were cyndi Lauper or Madonna. Toyah was 70s, but mainly 1980s (Wasnt "its a mystery" 1981?). Also think 'Fame', shoulder pads and big hair.... Luvvin it!
Pink me too. Hubby and I went to a movie theme fancy dress party a few years ago and we decided an hour before leaving to both go dressed in running gear and he word sunglasses and went as 'Coolrunnings' and I went holding holding a knife 'Bladerunner'. Very, very lazy!
shave off all your hair, put 10 little rings in one ear, wear 20 hole DMs, stretch jeans, a ben sherman and red braces. get a scary man to tattoo "SKINZ" on the side of your neck, and "ACAB" on your knuckles.

Adam Ant is a good one. I think the key is to be recognisable and not just 'someone in a wig with bad 80s clothes'
Which tends to be my approach because I hate fancy dress and only give it a moments thought. Which I most often regret once I get there.
Adam Ant would be cool.
Or you could power suit it - pencil skirt, big shoulder pads, too much rouge on the cheek bones?
Sarah Ferguson?
Wear metallic colours.
Luvvin it!

Metal mickey now you're talking!
Really easy one - white t-shirt with RELAX written on it. Or, if you're feeling clever, the office catchphrase printed in the Relax stylie.
