As I did not get into FLM this year thought I'd do a number of halves instead, enjoyed all three so far felt so good at Paddock Wood yesterday I decided a full late on in the year might be good fun, this sounds interesting and have just entered, bring on those long autumn runs!! Done Beachy Head in the past and that was quite, er 'undulating' so can't imagine this will be quite as tough, though I have been wrong in the past!!
Sunluver, people on here who know me have probably been waiting for my response to your comment "Maybe Alzehimers is setting in " and I thought it better to keep my comments off the thread - you've got mail!
Oooh, I see the number of entrants is rising steadily.
Huffapuff (great name btw!), welcome to the thread. Beachy is fab isn't it. I'm hoping that the support at this marathon will be as good as the Hastings 1/2.
Just entered Martin and myself for this one - though he doesn't know it yet. At least we've got the opportunity to practice some of those hills beforehand. Should be fit anyway we're planning on doing the Himalaya 100 in October. So we'll be fit or dead. And yes the Christmas Pudding Dash will be the following week.
And Martin's running Paris this weekend. Doesn't look like much chance of it being as hot as last year.
Excellent news - it would be rude for us not to do it really wouldn't it! The Himalaya 100 sounds very exciting. Is that 100k or 100 miles? Regarding the entry numbers I was just going off what MrF said earlier and from my conversation with Eric. Good luck to Martin for Paris. Please tell him I shall miss his helpful words of wisdom at FLM
Cathy, I am soooooo jealous. I have a secret desire to do a 100 miler one day. You must let me know what it's like. Please give Martin a <SLAP> from me - last year he said "have you dropped one?" as he ran past. Well, what's a girl to say to a question like that!
My New years resolution was to get fit so entered the hastings half . Now find myself entrying this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any help with training shedules anyone ??
mark, i'm just about to do my first marathon in 3 weeks and 5 days (not that i'm counting). i only began running a year ago and before i started the training i'd only run 13 miles once and that was in the august. although i haven't proved it's worked for me yet, i've found it really good. it only requires 3 runs a week then 2/3 cross training sessions, pref cycling/swimming to help prevent injury.
i found it by following the links on here.
just another alternative- i think they are all good, just depends what suits you.
Do you know how many entrants there are now? It's my track evening with the running club tonight and we might make a special announcement about the race. Ta if you know, ta if you don't.

We'll be at London cheering people on. Martin says make sure you don't drop any stitches.
Himalaya 100 is 100 miles - and includes the everest marathon.

Redhead, you have mail, also sorry if anyone was offended as none was intended.

Hi Susie,
Do you know how many entrants there are now? It's my track evening with the running club tonight and we might make a special announcement about the race. Ta if you know, ta if you don't.
Love,
Pete.
The Hal Higdon programmes look pretty good.
Good luck to everyone who's entering - glad to see there'll be a few first timers
I'm in, will be my third mara of the year, if I don't enter anymore.
Which is unlikely
8th and final one of the year .
Well that the way this seems to be shaping up
