Here's where you need to pay attention, you can choose your distances for each section independently of each other, giving you the optimum training in race conditions for your season.

The options for each section are:

SWIM: 1500m / 1900m / 3800m
BIKE: 30k / 90k / 180k
RUN: 10k / 21k/ 42k

Laps of 30km, using the junction (marked on the map) or the boot of your car as the aid station. From the junction to the Water Trust car park is about 400m, so you could end up doing an extra 2km! 6 Laps could be a little boring, but logistically it's the best bet, to be sure of refilling every hour. Each loop only has 61m of climbing, so the total ascent is just 366m.

A half marathon lap is out and back along the Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal path. A nice, forgiving, compacted canal path. You won't find a flatter marathon than this, with a total ascent of approximately 100m (self-calculated). The turn around point is at Snarestone, as marked by the red cross on the map. At this 'aid' station is a pub and a payphone, perfect for several Guinness whilst calling back to the finish to order your finishers meal to be thrown on the BBQ for an hour or two's time!


There will be 2 'racing' catagories for the title of Pick'n'Mix Man and Half Pick'n'Mix Man 2009. for those you need to do 1900m / 90k / 21k option or 3800m / 180k / 42k option

Attention Pirates, there is a Pirate Ship at the Market Bosworth Water Trust !! Begging for a photo opportunity or excuse to make this the Pirate Annual Festival get together??. You can have a further best PirateMan or PirateMan70.3 sub-category etc. Hopefully more Pirates can attend as it was a bit short notice for TTMan. Not so much jumping ship this time tho

There is full camping and leisure facilities avail on site for those bringing OH/kids etc.
