kg sorry can't help you with flight details etc, but if you get the chance to run Frankfurt, then DO it. It was my first marathon last year, and was absolutely superb! The event is very well supported by local people, very few parts of the course where there isn't somebody cheering you on. Your name is on the running number, so random people you don't know are calling you and personally encouraging you on. The drink and nutrition stations are fab, and the finish in the Festhalle is out of this world. My only niggle was collecting my gear afterwards - orderly queues just didn't come into it. Fast, flat course, brilliant medal, pasta party on the Saturday. Go for it and good luck with everything. x
Might be quicker to get a taxi from the airport although not cheap. Cost me around €22 to get to the Radisson hotel (good 15 mins walk from the main area / station) and took about 20 mins. Supposed to be trains as well but whether they run at that time is another thing.
