I bought a pair of Asics Powell tights. I normally train in shorts or running tracksuit bottoms but I thought I would give tights a whirl. I feel like I am tiring quicker than usual when wearing them. YES they fit properly and are not restricting me other than that elasticity feel when wearing.
Does anyone else think (or know) that tights make a run more arduous? Maybe I have just had some off days when wearing
Let me know what you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you follow the skins theory for tights - you'd expect to run better with them than not. I'm not convinced though.
Yeah you need em for Orienteering.
Hey, anyone else!!!! Reply and help my confidence (or not) in this!
Tights are great for those cold winter mornings!
Arduous?..def. not..maybe you just ran alittle faster because you weren't used to the feel
i use both
but i think that tights do help recovery so i wear them in training but not in races
Please ignore my ignorance, these tight thingy's - are you meant to just wear them.
If I dared run in the streets with them on alone - I would get my head kicked in. LOL
Tights make me run harder just so I can get home sooner to keep the number of people exposed to the sight of me in lyrcra as few as possible! In seriousness, I haven't found much difference performance wise in tights v shorts; maybe you just weren't used to the feel of them or as you said had some off days?
Scottish Mike - I've never seen a runner in just tights alone. Maybe keep that experiment until a dark winter's evening
ah all good advice and quite amusing also lol I get the sh** ripped out of me for wearing tights lol I am in the military and even though people Kknow I am a phys monster I still get annihilated The Ron Hill brand seems to get extra jibes
So no performance issues then just credibility ?
not as bad as 3/4 length capri tights!
Tights and my fave' old knackered in breathable running jacket, i'm a creature of habit and absolutely don't give a monkeys what i look like. Even if i'm on a 20 miler.
If it's hot hot hot i'll wear shorts and a breathable T but i'd rather not.
Mine are probably shorter than yours, and therefore less restricting (see pic) as, being female, I can get away with it.
I don't find it more of an effort. However, I always wear baggy shorts for steeplechasing/hurdling, because then tight shorts definetely do restrict leg movement.
