hash that sounds like a plan I'll take you up on that, thankyou
re the trains
I got a train from liverpool street early last sunday and had to get a bus replacement service for cheshunt and it tooks absolutely ages. Not sure this is still the case but worth checking
Looking forward to this one. Done it the last couple of years, but never really gone for it, especially in the heat of last year! Does anyone remember was it 9:30 start last year, as recall it was nice until about 5 mins before the off, when walking through the hedge to the start, then the sun shone down on us!!
It looks like the first 3 miles are pretty much the same, then it seems to go out in the countryside a bit more, rather than those damned cycle paths! The last 600m or so coming in to the finish seems the same too.
The g-maps of this year and last are on the harlow website, if you want to look at those and compare, thats what I did. Someone local may be able to help more.
I've been told to say that we are running as well. When I say we I mean Me and Sezz, which might sound confusing coz it's Sezz's login but this is fatface typing and it's hard to type with a big egg buttie in yer hand.
We have ~370 so far entered with race limit of ~500. We do usually get ~100 on the day , so I would walk quickly from the station to be safe. (10-15 min walk, or a 5-10 min jog).
Thats useful info. One of my clubmates is entering tomorrow, we should be there for 8:30 as it takes about an hours drive, so hopefully that should be early enough do you think?
I would recommend arriving as early as you can, especially if driving, to ensure you are parked in time to enter. I would think that arriving ~1 hour before the race should be sufficient, but if a large number of people fancy entering at the last minute, we cannot guarantee it.
If coming by train, I wanted to draw attention to the fact that there were 2 train stations. Harlow Town is 2-3 miles away where, trains arrive more frequently and earlier, but you have to be able to get from there to the race HQ. The other, Harlow Mill, is walkable via Old Harlow (0.5 miles), but trains are much less frequent
I'll be going past whichever station is in the middle of Harlow about 8am (ugh!). I can fit two people in the car so if anyone wants a lift from the main Harlow station, I was going to say e-mail me but it's notoriously dodgy so best post something here before about 7pm this evening
Loon, see you about 8.15am? I know it's early, but I'm paranoid about having to park in Sawbridgeworth or somewhere
Fat Face and Sezz - see you tomorrow. Meeting up again without beer being involved!
If anyone else entered online, could you confirm that we have to collect our number tomorrow please. I know thats pretty standard with online entries, but could not find much info on the hrc website.
SS i entered online and got my number through the post. when did you enter?
I would imagine at a push yu could park in the Tesco car park, or old harlow car park, but they're a fair walk from the start. the main car park would obviously be the sport centre car park, but as already said, it wil fill up really early.
would say old harlow and tesco are about 10 minutes walk away unless you are a speedy walker/run it
Am back and finished in 1.50.50 (ish) and spot on my target time so very pleased.
it was hellishly hot, well done to everyone who got round, commiserations to anyone who DNF'd and hope all the casualties are ok
I loved the new route, really made a nice change from the cycletracks, defintely got the thumbs up from me. huge thankyou to all the marshalls and supporters, really well organised as always

I had a bit of a taster in a 10km two weeks ago, but a 10 mile in the heat, it will be just like last year. Good for the spectators though!
SS.
thanks a million vicnvin.
i'm coming into Harlow Mill at 8:31, hopefully in time to register & get sorted for the start.
does anybody know if the whole course has changed, or is it just the last bit with that hill i had to walk up!?!

For parking, you will be directed by marshalls on arrival at Mark Hall school sports centre.
Good luck to all running tomorrow.
