I've just signed up to run for the Help for Heroes charity at FLM 2009. Had an email from them to say their team was now up to 128 runners - anyone else out there?
Hi Night Nurse. Got a bit of a shock there cos there is another Night Nurse on the sub-3.45 thread but it's not you!
I've not started any fundraising yet either....last time I started too early and then got injured so pulled out. So I am going to leave it a while yet.
Training OK - did a half marathon last Sunday which was longest run so far - and it hurt...
I managed a 10 mile race a few weeks back. It wasn't pretty, but I finished! That's the furthest I've run for about 5 years!! I'm aiming to maintain my current mileage until the New Year and then start training properly.
Sounds a good plan EB. I'm not planning on anything longer than 10-12 miles this side of the new year. Have a 10k race planned on New Years Day (why?????) and then start a proper marathon schedule from there.
Training looking good at the moment. Had a scare in January when I pulled my calf, and took a month off running, but after that I've been doing well - did the Cranleigh 21 last weekend and finished with some energy left in the tank...looking to do 20-22 for my last really long run on Sunday and then TAPER!!
Up to just over £1000 for the charity so far, which I am chuffed with too.
Just want to say GOOD LUCK to the H4H runners this Sunday i'm sure you have all raised a fair amount of cash for them and hope you all get through it unscathed with times you are proud of

Help for Heroes
Hi,
I'm running for H4H too. I haven't started chasing people to sponsor me yet though.
How's the training going?

I am running for them in the GSR this year and IF I get into the marathon next year I will be running for them again
Good luck to you all!
