After running today I got home and my face felt a bit pinched, it's not expressly cold or windy and it's not something I've noticed in previous years so maybe my youthful complexion has begun to age and lose its natural vibrance. So, would schlepping on man moisturiser be sufficient or are there more specific outdoorsy/running products out there?

Ok - you'll freak the locals out when you run up behind them panting like a good one and looking like Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs but wtf - at least your face will be warm!
Some moisturiser would probably help.
Try something like Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion. It's not too girly, you can buy it in Boots, and it's cheap!
Other alternatives are baby bum creams - not Sudafed as it's a bit stringent but my two used to get nasty faces when pushed around in strollers in winter when teething (they would dribble a lot and got chapped faces as a result - bit like their mother nowadays!) and they also used to get really nasty nappy rash too. Pharmacist chap in Boots recommended Morhulin (not sure if it's still available) by I think, Seton healthcare - v thick cream, creates barrier when on skin, looks all thick and white when goes on, but does disappear into skin, so you won't look a prat if you use it. Contains ? castor oil, not particularly sweet smelling, but does the business.
If you don't fancy that part brand, then just have a shufty at the nappy rash creams in Boots etc, they are brilliant for protection v wind (of all sorts!)
Know some people swear by Vaseline, personally, I swear at it, can't stand the smell, but it is good and again, cheap - so perhaps another alternative. And you can get it in tiny, flat, pocket-sized tins that you could take out with you. You could also look at ski products, tho they tend to be sun-screen as well, but they are v protective and when skiing, conditions can be really hard on face.
you can often get big tubs/pots of vaseline intensive moisturiser in Poundland, or failing that somewhere like 'savers' 'bodycare' or even Wilkinsons shops which are also quite cheap (poss more so than Boots?)
Palmers cocoa butter smells FAB though....although I think you can get an unscented one!
Agree with Nick L on the Palmers cocoa butter, one of my favs. Also love some of the BodyShop body butters - papaya is yummy.
Anyway, agree with the answers, use a moisturiser. One of my lifes little pleasures.

don't use vaseline...petroleum belongs in your car, not on your face.
and cut down on wash products with SLS in (sodium laureth sulphate)
tis easy innit
think you mean Sudocrem there....Sudafed's a decongestant
I use either Aqueous Cream, Diprobase, or Calendula Cream
Bodyshop face protector is good stuff, made from natural ingredients.
