I'd love to hang on to you at that pace BP but I'll be lucky to break the magic 1.45 (1.46.06 last year) - where's that Beders when you need a train to ride?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
I believe that the emminently recognisable Rich K might provide a focal point for folk if they so wished?
TS - is the local forecast for tomorrow any better than the one I'm getting from the Met Office? Can you remember what it was last year? I know it was windy but have managed to erase the details though I'm quite sure it didn't hail at any point!

Er, you're not exactly selling me the idea of heading across the M62 tomorrow Here in Liverpool, winds and heavy rain hit us about 4pm but it's calmed down now. I heard just now on the forecast that N. Ireland was suffering gales & rain, so I don't want to speak too soon.
Yay for a following wind on the inward 6!! Run strong and run well, everyone
Opps, been a bit busy LMH so haven't been on the thread for a while, will look out for you at the start, I'm the tubby boy in the white long sleeved top with an Ilkley harriers vest over the top, sub 1.45 here we come !! Wind forecast seems to have dropped a bit so let's hope it picks up behind us on the way back !!!
That was fun. Cracking day for it and the feared gales turned out to be a gentle breeze against on the way out and assisting on the way back. The sun shone, we got a rucksack instead of a sweatshirt and I beat most of the people I wanted to with a totally unexpected 1:26. Great organisation, including the chip pick-up which could have been disastrous but was very well organised. Well done Knavesmire, living up to your usual high standards as ever.
Fantastically well organised as ever. Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone/many people. M1 was closed on the way up meaning we arrived in the car park about 20 mins before the off! Bit of a rush to get chip etc but all ok and whilst I didn't dip under 1.45 I did a PB of 1.45.05 (chip time, Garmin time was 2 secs slower) so I'm tired but happy
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
PBs all round... well done LMH and Hipps... (and anyone else who PB'ed)! Good running considering the wind. It was bad enough washing the car today let alone racing
Hi everyone. Well done to you all. I managed to get a pb today too - 1:41:24 which is 3 mins off my previous best. Now sitting here abolsutely shattered!
Hippo i looked over the place for you, at 8.5 min miles theres no wonder i did'nt see you.
My days of PBs have long since gone even though the conditions were just about ideal, and the Marshalls were brilliant although the one that told me near the end that i was looking good was being too kind
Thanks Knavesmire Harriers, really well organised and great support - loved it. That kit kat in the goody bag was the best one I've ever tasted. Congrats to all who got PBs.

just sitting here 20 miles from the start listening to the wind howling and the rain lashing down................
Good point - how to recognise folks - I should be easy - the old ,white haired and bearded codger cowering from the elements.

35 miles away - wind really picked up here too. Forecast suggests that it will have calmed down by the morning.
First 7 miles will be into the wind tomorrow so get drafting to save energy and then motor on the way back.
Good luck everyone. I'll be chasing a sub 1:45.

I do carbo loading extremely well
Roll on tomorrow. Literally. I'm so round!

Beders - are you on for a pacing job then? You'd be an ideal windbreak I'm 1461. Leaving now.
Good luck all!
I got a half-marathon PB! Definitely helped by the chip-timing as it took me quite a while to get over the line - seemed busier than last year?
The support from the marshalls was brilliant, especially in the last couple of miles when I really needed it!
Hope everyone else had a good race.
a one second pb for me, God that hurt
Top organisation as always, thanks Knavesmire harriers
the wind wasnt that bad psc, well, niot the wind outside anyroad
Hi everyone. Well done to you all. I managed to get a pb today too - 1:41:24 which is 3 mins off my previous best. Now sitting here abolsutely shattered!
Hipps - I had a couple of slow miles which I put down to the wind - 4 and 5 were the worst.
Well done Dippycat! Great running.
LMH, I did struggle a bit around mile 4 to 5, i just assumed that was me being stupid and doing the first 2 miles at 8.5 mm
LMH - Well done
Hippo - another sub 2hr half to add to your collection
yes
and a 10 mile and 10k pb en route
