Entry to this race has closed already and I am desperate to enter.
Does anyone know how to get on a reserve list as there must be people who enter and cannot do it on the day?
If anyone cannot do it can the number be transferred?
I don't know what to do and really need to do this- I have been training for this for the last 6 months and thought I had weeks to go before booking a place.
The numbers from last year are vastly reduced.
I am so upset at the moment. Can anyone help me please?
Many thanks

Why not contact the organisers? They should be able to answer your questions.
I'm not aware that numbers can be transferred - not many races allow this as it's extra admin for them.
As an alternative, there's the Paddock Wood half mara (a quick trip over the bridge) on 5 April. Have a look on the events tab at the top of the screen and you should find others.
I cannot describe how upset I feel right now.
Thanks for your reply. At least I don't feel like I am talking to myself.

Page two!
It has been suggested that numbers may not be transferrable, this is where it would be helpful for an organiser to get back to people.
Just done the Benfleet 15 and went on a similar forum to this for the race and one of the organisers could not have been more helpful. Replied to every query and comment. Karl was so helpful.

Not sure why my messages are repeating as I did not do the last message.
Thanks guys for the suggestions but this has really burst my bubble!
places still in both
Brentwood always popular - and this year no entries on day. Also they sent out forms way back Sept time last year.
Pretty please with a cherry on top.

It looks like I've missed tha boat as well.
Based on what Neil says, they will offer up a few places if the fun run isn't that popular?
I got in to Brentwood!!!!!!!!!!
If you are desperate to get in then call them and ask to go on the reserve list.
It worked for me and there is still 3 weeks to go.
Thanks everyone for your support and see you there.

Well done, see you there.
Will have a practice run at Roding Valley first as really didn't think I would get in.

sadly i do know of a couple of people who can't run. ( injury, lack of training etc) who have places and havent notified the organisers.. shame, cos thats a waste.. and any idea why the race limit is down so much this year ???
Please ask the people who cannot participate to contact the organisers or use this page to advertise their number, someone could buy it off them and contact the organiser to change the details of the runner. It is the Brentwood Council that are organising it and their number is on the entry details.
Good luck on Sunday.

yeh .. i am pleading with them to 'fess up' re their non running.. i know a few people who left it too late this year so hope they do the right thing and hand them in..
good luck
The last hill was more than tough it was offensive! I really thought my legs were going to go and about the only thing that kept me going was knowing that I was in the top 50 and that people in the top 50 don't stop near the end of races (or at least I assume they don't - it's not a position I'm accustomed to!).
I've now taken nearly 5 minutes off my PB in the last 2 half-marathons. I thought your body was meant to start to deteriorate after 35 (I'm 38).
The marching band at the start was excellent. Would have been funny to see them try doing the race with us.
Well done everyone - thats was a good course and the support and marshalling were excellent - plenty of water and jelly babies! So thanks to all the organisers. I also thought it was cool that as we ran through Blackmore there was a little basket on the village green with some Lucozade drinks in with a sigh saying "Help Yourself Courtesy of Something-or-other Cottage".
I was on the reserve list so count myself lucky that I got a place. My first half and pleased with the result. I had been aiming for 1:45, and came in at 1:45:35.
Only one blister, and a pair of aching legs!
