I did this nearly two years ago and can vouch for it being very quick and extremely well orgnaised.
Anyone wanting a fast flat 5 miler down country lanes, this is the one for you. Entry is available usually on the day as well... so, Puglet will see you all there!

Blimey, for such a fantastic race, there's no interest in this one? Come on people, join in the fun!

I've not got mine
Cheers Pug
Yay! Mine arrived yesterday!
This will be my first ever race so I'm starting to get pretty excited about it now.
Yep got mine last Friday so result... Lordy, you'll love it, it's a cracking... great atmosphere, superbly marshalled and organised... great field... of ALL abilities... one of my faves... can't wait and finally legs seem to be responding after Trimpell and Wilmslow now... finally calfs are loosening up... 10 mile tonight.. 2-3 mile tomorrow night and should be ready for a blast and 27:20 is the target I think... do NOT need to die a death in this one...
Cheers Pug
Thanks Pug. I'm really starting to get a buzz now in anticipation... although I last ran on Thursday night and I tweaked my ankle. So here's hoping it's recovered now and holds out for the duration.
My target is a little less impressive (my excuse is I only started running in mid Jan ) but if I can get round in 43:00 or less I'll be delighted.
28:21 (5:40 m/m) and very disappointed with the time tbh... however, ran as hard as I could just haven't got any speed in my legs unfortunatley... tough really...
Hope everyone else had a good un', nice to meet and talk Neil... blimey thought I was a nutter on starts... you take the biscuit lol
Cheers Pug
Well...
For my first race I committed the ultimate schoolboy error and set off far too quickly. Those first two miles were deceptively fast and I ended up paying for it in the final two.
Overall I'm delighted with my time c.42:40 but I'm dissapointed with myself for pushing too hard too soon and having to stop twice in the final 3rd.
Next stop, Morecambe and Lancaster 10k in June
??? Why? Did I get one? Not sure what position I was... yous erious? Man if that's the case, what was it? A Bronze or something????? Come on, I'm all excited now rofl
Awesome run there... come on, have to be happy with that, it's quicker than you originally wanted though wasn't it... so well done... if I was you, get a 10k in before June, you need to keep that race ethic now, believe me, I'll now race 4 times in 3 weeks and I'll be banging out 5:30's easily... race to get speed! It works!Cheers Pug
Great race last night new PB 28.38 and Cheshire Champs M40 Gold Medal, didn't think I would ever win one of those when I started running again two years ago!
Nice to meet you as well Pug, you were right about my start 5.05 1st mile ouch!! I think you finished 15th, they didn't give out the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals out because there was some confusion over who was eligible.
Well done Lordy on your 1st race that was a good time and now you have something to build on. in my 1st 5 miler two years ago I ran 40.20. keep it up and good luck for your next races.
Where the hell are the results? Lots of photographers about as well, anyone got any pictures?
Cheers Pug
YIPPPEEEE Just spoke to Mr Driscoll and I'm the Cheshire Champ 5 Mile Bronze Medallist... man I'm so chuffed... what I'm not chuffed about is lack of results, where the heck are they?
Cheers Pug
Congrats on the medal Pug!
I'm dying to see the official results.
Having relaxed for a few days now I'm ready and raring to get back into a race... I reckon I'll be signed up to a couple more before the afternoon is out. I'm so chuffed I managed to get the time I did and I can't wait until I get out there again.
Is it just me, or is this beyond a joke now with the results? Come on West Cheshire, blimey, need to know times and positions
Cheers Pug
Too right hahaha.. otherwise couldn't give a monkies
On a brighter note, great to see you back running matey... so how long will it be before we can continue our rivalry?
Cheers Pug
