Plus a comments bit to allow you to add observations like how you felt during that training. Somehow there would need to be an automatic converter to cope with the pace calculations for both miles and kms. And as a triathlete I agree with the posts above asking for space to input training in other disciplines than running. Pie-in-the-sky maybe - but it would be nice to have a sort of approximate calculation of the running equivalent of cross-training sessions, i.e. if I swim a set of 8 x 400m intervals, or bike an hour on the indoor trainer at 90 RPMs because winter conditions preclude going for a run, what does that equate to in running terms? Or maybe I'm asking too much, perhaps we really need separate logs for running, biking, and swimming training?
I agree with Jon. !!! I think a league table (if based purely on miles run) could lead to people trying to do too much too soon. i.e. aiming to move up the 'leader board' rather than to improve race performance.
How about a feature that allows you to input your 10k time (once) and can then tell you if your run is "steady", "threshold", "lunatic fringe", etc, and gives you a round of applause on the odd occasion when you get it right. (and a rasberry when you bottle out).
All of the above plus an ornithological counter so that I can plot if I saw the heron, how many swans, new coot chicks, number of cormorants etc. And Stickless can also log her kingfishers.
I second (or I think it's third) the idea for inputting other types of training - my current running log (a spreadsheet) doesn't cope with anything other than running and is looking a bit sparse these days as I'm injured and can't do anything except lift weights in the gym (yawn....) So it'd be nice to be able to put something in, it'd make me feel like I'm doing something!
I like the league table idea, I think it'd only be the lads who use it all competitively and get themselves injured by going all out to beat everyone else on there - us girlies would be much more sensible :-)
Sean, are you and the team fiddling about with the forum? Am I going mad, or have the <<Next Thread - Previous Thread>> links only just appeared at the top of the page?
Why can't we have a thing that takes you to your last post in any given thread? It would save having to reread pages before you find where you had got to...
(I know it doesn't have anything to do with training logs but at 52 posts we should be way off topic anyway)
I don't think a league table is a good idea at all. I have no wish to be compared to athletes more than 20 years younger than me, I already know where I stand and it's not at the top. What I would prefer is one of those age-group calculators that tells you where you stand in relation to your own age-group - now that's more sensible.
I've skimmed previous posts and I know some(probably all) of these are in but here goes:
- weekly/monthly totals - shoe mileage - details of standard routes - ability to share standard route (Wolfy & I both run Macc Forest 5, rarely together, but would allow to compare times) - link to OS or other on-line mapping for route plotting, upload to std routes - race time predictor based on one-off or recent aggregate (would need to be able to exclude runs from calculation) - download (and edit) RW training schedules into log - races entered on line get uploaded direct into your log (you can edit details) - record cross training & running equivalence

And, sad as it is, I record my weight fanatically so would like that too. With a link to the porkers thread for those with a BMI over 25?
or a triathlon training table
Thought I would ask before I put in any that's all.
