surprised no thread for this yet...
...there is now!
I'm looking to better my PB of 1:27:51 - sub-1:25 definitely on methinks, and would like to push down as close to 80mins as poss...
does anybody know if this race has accurate Mile Markers?
does anybody have a map of the course?

Thanks for that PW!
strange that there are two Preston 10's in the event system though?
anyway, I think mine is the "One True Thread" and everybody should come over here!
egyptian toe - sounds like we'll definitely be seeing something of each other on Sunday then, in fact in could be a photo finish!
I'm doing this too - looking forward to it, although not looking forward to the high winds that are forecast! Those long stretches could prove quite tricky if there's a howling gale blowing! Oh well.... that's the joy of November running!
I'm aiming for somewhere around the 1:15 mark if all goes to plan....
phil - here's last year's results:
http://www.ukresults.net/2008/preston10.html
347 finishers
1:35 would've put you in 335th place
Come to think of it, 1:20 to 1:25 might be more like my time..... I think I was a tad over-optimistic predicting 1:15!
With the times, and looking at last year's results, it looks like the majority of runners who do this race are club runners so obviously the times will be fairly quick.
I'm sure we'll all get round anyway, plus it's looking like it'll be a better day for us weather-wise - Saturday looks horrendous!
Good luck folks!
did a few "test" miles yesterday
I predict I will start off at 8:00 pace, but slowly tail off and average 8:20ish = 83:20
so aiming to go sub-83
think I'm number 590 and will be wearing a black/white Fell Ponies vest, so feel free to say hello
1:16 for me folks - really enjoyed it..... A fast course, well-marshalled, and good weather - what more could you ask for?
How did you other guys do? And how did you find it?

e.toe - Well Done on the sub-80 - Great Stuff!
1:25:53 for me
slipped off the pace in miles 7, 8 & 9
would've liked to've at least gone sub-1:25 but not to be
still new PB by 2 mins though so not complaining too much
weather great and liked the course, so would probably do again in future
Anyone know if there are any pics on-line?
And am I correct in thinking that there`s also a 5 mile race from the same place at same point in the year?
