Is this a reliably measured 5k run, rather than 'approximate'. So.. whatever happens tomorrow, the time can be accepted by all..? Or.. do we face a week of argument about the distance..?
I normally lurk and laugh from a distance, and this thread has been quite a laugh at times!
On a serious note D2D, good luck tomorrow. Please let us know back on this thread don't start another one with a title like "see I told you I could do it"
I'm a bit worried that you'll go off too quickly and die on your feet over the last 2k....my forecast for you is 22:30. Not exactly power of 10, but respectable
So you're all in the "D2D is full of shit" camp?! I disagree. I think she'll do it.
Firstly she's been so definite about this that she knows she'll have zero credibility if she fails. She isn't going to risk becoming a complete laughing stock, is she?
Secondly, for anybody who has run 70 miles a week for a few years, a sub 20 5k isn't a fast time anyway.

I see where you are coming from, but D2D does have a long history.
Personally, I think she'll either do it, or come pretty close - I think she is one big wind up. Many think everyone has been laughing at D2D for a long time. I think its the other way round.
Just as a matter of interest, what is a respectable 5km for an older gentleman? I did 24 minutes last night and I realy think with a bit of luck I'll get down to 22 minutes. Is that any good?
Jb what you calling "an older gentleman", I've got a 21.02 for a 5K and i'm under 40, and i know that this is not an especially good for any age for a bloke, at a guess (and yes this is a guess) something under 17 mins would seem to me to be a great time.
Piece of string, innit. Safely build up to 100 miles per week for a few years, and you can do 18 mins. Provided "older" doesn't mean "pensioner". Although how sensible it would be to sacrifice much of "having a life" just to do a quick 5k is up to the conscience of the gentleman in question...

I don't know which I'm looking forward to more.....Murray in Australia or D2D in MK Parkrun.
So similar in so many ways.......
Good luck D2D - I've enjoyed this thread from afar...... although until now I couldn't make my mind up whether to jeer or cheer.
Go for it - good luck
