NIke+ sport band

Hello,
I have just got a nike+ sport band as a gift and can't seem to get the sensor to pick up the fact that I am walking. It won't then pick up a run...... Does anyone have one or any idea what is going on?
P.S. I have checked that the sensor is not asleep!

I have one of these, that was very good to start with, but now after about 6 months it does not pick up that I am walking neither running, same as you. I have tried everything to get it to resync etc but nothing.
