Is running realistic after block dissection?

Advice gratefully appreciated please!

I am having a block dissection (right inguinal and pelvic lymph nodes) next week.  I'd love to know if anyone else has had this and then returned to running?

I am a 35 year old female in otherwise good health, I guess for anyone who knows what a block dissection is, you will know that I have melanoma with secondaries in the lymph nodes.....

    Can't think of any reason why you shouldn't get back to running once all the surgical wounds are healed up.

    Have you any other treatment planned after surgery such as radiotherapy or chemo? Melanoma is not my area so not sure what you will need....

    Thanks K9!  There is little follow up for melanoma - I am being entered into a trial of Avastin, and hoping to get on it.  I think the main challenges are going to be lymphadaema (sp??) and some initial mobility issues relating to the sartorius (sp?) muscle being moved....
