Rosie Swales running her 27th consecutive marathon this saturday (the last one!) will be on the Wales marathon course this Saturday. If anyone would like to run with her, even for a mile, please let me know.
Thanks for the link - I was thinking of the Great Welsh Marathon in Llanelli but that was the other week! Did London last Sunday - the first of many maras for me I hope!
5 to 6 is now my comfortable range, happy with that 2 or 3 times week.
Having said that we are doing a sponsored walk in July from Mynchlog-ddu to Rose Bush over the Preselli's which is 12 miles & one of the mothers of my U12's has asked me to run it with her rather than walk it.
Finish @ the Tafarn Sinc for a bit of light refreshment & we thought if we run,we get there sooner & have more drinking time
I'm signed up but with little knowledge about the route or terrain. Had a look on the map but a postage stamp sized picture of Tenby doesn't mean much to me - any advice on what the route is like?
yes its undulating but there is a garmin profile going up in the next week or so. The hills are not long just come one after another in the middle section!
anyone see the wales marathon on TV with Rosie swales. She started out running 26 marathon in 26 days and chose the wales marathon as the first course. Then after running it announced she would run 27 so that she could come back and do it again! Now there's a recommendation fo you!!
I love Tenby & the surrounding areas & am interested in signing up for the race, do you have any ideas about drink stations, toilets etc out on the course?
I have entered the full one www.loncourseweekend.com and if the wife allows am going to stay on for a holiday and do my final race of the yearfancy dress tri! Looks a laugh!!
GW - you are one of the brave - locally the tourism guys are now getting together to start to offer packages and deals etc. I know coastal cottages are now paying for places if you stay in any of their cottages. so basically if you stay with them they pay the race organiser for your place!!
I'll post it on here once they put it live on their website.
David - The half details will go up next week. But basically all runners will be bused after the marathon start to Pembroke castle for their own start. they will then start after the elites of the marathon come through. BIG atmosphere on the start and will come down through Pembroke main street.
Fantastic course and to be able to run down through Freshwater east , lamphey and Pembroke is going to be magic. A pity you couldn't extend the course to the Dock but I cant have it all!
I think this is going to be great marathon, well done guys.

Which marathon in Wales do you mean?

27 consecutive marathons! ouch!!!!
Where are you in Pembs then 8iron?
I work in Tenby & live in Clarbeston Rd
Nah.
No longer have time nor the inclination to train for those sort of distances since getting involved with Clarby FC to tell you the truth.
I now only run out of football season,as all my free time in season is spent plotting the downfall of the likes of Tenby FC
What so of time are you hoping for?
