Hello
Ran the Eridge 10 this morning, fantastic run, yet my trail shoes are caked in mud
I would really appreciate some advice about cleaning them, could i put them in the washing machine? not sure if I could face cleaning them by hand

No. Hose them down then stuff with newspaper and leave to dry. Works fine with mine.

Mine usually just get left till next run, then it all cracks/falls off, but if it is really bad, they do get hosed (or sluiced up & down in the water butt)
However, on my most regular fell-race (series now sadly ended - 'The Trunce'), there was a river crossing not far from the finish

one other tip - don't use detergent - just let the machine agitation get the crap out
just chuck them in a bucket of cold watwer for an hour..........then remove and pout in the sun..................or more likely stuff with newspapers and dry indoors
or just go and stand in a river at the end ......
