Given that I keep seeing Facebook notes suggesting that at least some folks are training their backsides off, I thought maybe we should start a thread....
Me.... well, i'm doing some base training, but starting IM programme proper on Nov 1...
306 days to go.......

Doing a bit of generally unstructured stuff at the moment, 30 week plan starts in 2011, so that's MILES away.
Slowly trying to get into the habit of;
1) doing something 6 days a week (manage about 4 days a week so far) and
2) swimming (not at all at the moment!)
I cant focus on training for 10 months. I'm just having a bit of fun at the moment, and no swimming at all. Obviously I'm not going to get to Kona.
I don't want to start too early or I'll get bored!
At the moment, I'm trying to get my weight down and get a bit of speed on the bike - I'm a cake eating snail
Had already done a spin class. Plan currently structured as unstructured training. Low hr stuff base training and the odd hard session for fun.
Mainly biking and swimming.
Hope to build up the running again in time for ballbuster.
just getting my basic week going again for the first time in a couple of months. Its what I used to do before I heard of IMs, ie bike commuting to work, 3 lunchtime runs a week, ie 8-10ks,
I'll start to add a few things to that after a month.
I am doing the odd weekend ride.... long very slow distance is all though
I have started going to the gym again, trying to make that a habit.
I am getting some swim tuition starting at the weekend, as I am a crap swimmer......
I am also buying thermal tops with a vengence...... ebay is my friend
winter - got to love it eh
I'm doing bugger all....
Since the Vit have swum twice and run twice and loving it!!!
Am kicking off the training on 1 November like you MC.
A few months ago I entered a half mara this weekend to keep me motivated... otherwise, i'd have done nothing since the Vit either!
Been out on the bike today... was great one way with the strong wind behind me, but on the way back the 9 mile long completely straight fen road was dead into the wind and was a killer... like a 9 mile hill climb!!!!
Legs are fried!
Duly cycled home from work, very nice except for the last 10km when I suddenly found a headwind from somewhere. It's faster going the other way because more downhill, the way back home climbs a lot. The dreaded hill climb didn't give me as much trouble as I thought it would, so pleased with that. OH usually does the homeward ride in 1 hr 20, I managed 1hr 30 for a first attempt.
Oh, didn't realise buying stuff counted. Got a lovely new cycle top and a softshell jacket with removable sleeves and two lots of overshoes and waterproof socks and long tights and a new bike.
Must be the equivalent of doing a half already surely.
I'm not allowed to spend money so have been exercising instead. Shortish swim, turbo or run sessions on weekday mornings and a bike and run at the weekend.
Debating whether to follow a plan this year though, I just ran, Sam and cycles this year with no real method to my madness.
The softshell is lovely
