Just entered this event. Will be coming from London and be nice to have a sober New Years Eve. This will be my second half marathon though not sure if I will get a personal best depends on course and how much I eat over Christmas.
We highlighted the course as 'multi-terrain' purely because the route will utilise a mix of tarmac, gravel and concrete tracks and pathways and maybe a short grass section. It will certainly not be a cross country route as I don't think I could face that myself the day after New Years Eve!
Check out the medal which has been specifically designed for the event and an image uploaded onto this site - we hope you will all approve.
Feel like a wimp now only doing the 10k! Just thought a HM may be a bit much on new yrs day esp as already doing Bedford half 2 weeks before.... Then again would be a good start to my marathon training does anyone know if I can upgrade?
Does anyone know what the course will be like in terms of gradient, terrain etc. As I am coming from London I have know idea what the area is like for running.
Area is flatish with a few sloping hills. Not sure what the course is but one of the organisers keeps popping on so sure he can tell you. Not checked out the websie yet it might all be on there?
I really like the look of that medal. Initially thought no chance due to expecting twins at the start of January but they decided to come 9 weeks early so perhaps it's a sign
Cheers might see you there depending on mince pies.
thats why im doing it so i dont over eat, ive lost a hell of alot of weight (8st 9lbs)and im so frightened about putting it back on again, thats why i keep at least 1 race a month to keep me focused
ive tried time and time again to lose it but this time something just clicked took up running when i had lost about 7st and havent looked back this running lark is great, met some great people and seen loads of places i didnt know exsisted, and next year im off to New York to run the marathon, 5 years ago i struggled up the stairs, now that, bring on many more years of running
