The fact that the, fantastic tech shirt not withstanding,, the goody bag contains mostly useless crap is what makes it so brilliant and world famous. How can you not love a goodybag that contains a screw and a Penguin bar ? Classic
well ice has nearly all gone here in Saddleworth love this race as it has good hills will have a yellow top on with woodland challange on race number 342
What a superb race! Probably the best marshalls I've ever seen. Don't mind a few hills (although some of the downhill bits were a bit fierce!)
Got a PB (but I've never done a 10 miler before, so all I had to was finish for that), 4 minutes faster than my target time which isn't too shabby. Even managed a half-decent sprint finish, then forgot to stop my watch. Doh!
What an excellent run out. Thank you Stockport Harriers and particularly all your marshals for standing out there on such a chilly morning. Crackin' good shirt for the effort as well. Made my PB so well stoked.
Dog biscuit???? I thought it tasted a bit funny but I was that hungry I finished it off!!! Hi Frodo - sorry I didn't get to say hi. I looked out for your dog but didn't see her. Hope Mr Frodo is feeling better.
Another great race - thanks to everyone involved. Those hills just dont get any easier do they?
All was going well, and I was on track for about 2 to 3 minutes below my pre-race target, just picking up the pace a bit at about 7.5 miles when - wham! I found a piece of ice I hadn't spotted and I was flat out on the ground. So now I've a grazed knee, grazed hands, bruised ribs and a grazed torso. That really took the wind out of my sails for what was, until that moment, a very enjoyable race. Many thanks to the nurse who stopped her car and checked I was OK. Thanks too to other runners who did the same. I did manage to complete the course, but running was quite painful, so missed my target.. As ever, thanks to Stockport Harriers for a great race with really encouraging marshalls. Oh well, roll on next year!
It was icy this morning and I had a cold which gave me this bad chest so though twice about going. Glad I did, great race and the most bizzare goody bag ever
Wonderful race as usual. Can anyone provide a brief outline of the route as Mrs John keeps asking me and I keep forgetting to concentrate when I run it ?

Yeah, I knew it was likely to be a lot of bonkers stuff in there. Was hoping for some rawl plugs though
I'll be packing in the morning, so look out for a handful of rawl plugs
We aim to please
Yes we've still got some left over from last year.
For information on parking & how to get there, etc read the race pack on the website. Lots of useful info. http://www.stockportharriers.com/index.php?q=club-races
Just driven round most of the course and ice appears to have gone.
A good undulating course, well marshaled and a bargain entry fee. (the technical tshirt is worth the entry fee alone!)
Can any tell me the who guy was running with the rucksack?
And a special thanks to the pirate lady who "raced" with me all the way around to our sprint (ha!) finish

Results are here.
Had a look at the results - turns out I was just behind you, came in 8 places later
Don't forget to investigate the contents of your goody bag by searching for the 'stockport ten' videos on youtube.com or stockportharriers.com
Please tag yourself in any pictures you see on facebook and finally don't forget to leave feedback on the runnersworld.co.uk websiite
"Its the goody bag, for the Stockport ten"
Well done from everyone at Stockport Harriers
see you next year
Wonderful race as usual. Can anyone provide a brief outline of the route as Mrs John keeps asking me and I keep forgetting to concentrate when I run it ?
Thanks
Well, you start off at Woodbank Stadium, then you leave there and head straight up. Or at least it felt that way
I recorded the route on my phone, if you want a look at a map you can see it here
Hope your feeling OK, NRAR.
I believe we might be one of the feature races in RW next month. Look out for the pictures.
