Not sure I can cope with another trip to the old folks that soon after Crimbo, but my diary's empty that weekend so.......
I know the area/route well, so it's mostly just a case of doing a Mrs Doyle - "Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, GO ON!!". That kind of thing.
Not having run the race before, I felt too timid to answer the other thread, but for my money, I'd love the 2005 course to be as off-road (and challenging) as possible - make use of the natural assets, since there's no way of holding a fast road 10 on the Downs. I'd send my entry form off today for something like that.
Swerve - there is too much in your response that reflects my thoughts about going back home again that soon after christmas!!! I might, I might not... are there entries on the day?
add me to the list of those in need of a little more persuasion... its the day after the surrey cross countries and Ive never run them before, but I have done the Tadworth (Five), could be tempted
Stage 1: Print off the entry form Stage 2: Wait patiently to be persuaded to fill-in said entry form by people mentioning pubs and socials and stuff like that . . .
i was joking aboyut mrs_m.. more a case of persuading her i can do it.. and that she either wants to a) stand in the cold waiting for me to finish or b) make polite conversation with her inlaws till i get back!
I'm a definite for this. Already entered. Never run it before but it sounds a good way to kick off the new year. I'll have done 30 races this year before I'm finished so if I'm to emulate that next year I'll have to start early and this is about as early as it gets without running with a hangover on New Year's day.
