I am currently trying to add this event to the events listings but technical errors keep getting me!!
Entry level multi terrain duathlon held at the new Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre! Supported by Up & Running Liverpool and will be chip timed by Black Sheep Sports!
All sorts of other activities to try within the centre and out on the lake do definately a day out to remember!

Hi Jon,
The event is a flat fast duathlon with some tough little technical areas to keep things interesting! The course will be fully marshalled and is supported by both Up and Running & Blacksheep Sports. You can get an entry form on the events page!

Hi
When you say technical are we talking dismounting or just slow technical?
Cheers
The course is based around the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre which is located extremely close to the Crosby beach where the Ironmen are located.
Due to the location the technical areas are sandy and grass area but only to the point that it makes it quite fun!!
Sounds good, is there a closing date for the event ?
Also could you provide me some details aabout the family race?
P.s. love the 2012m with the Olympics around the corner!
J.M
Hi
out of interest where does the ironmen in the title come from...............is the site on an old steel works or is it a play on the itonman name.............
because of the name I thought it would be a long distance duathlon..............
Hi jon,
The family race is a chance for the people with a family who might not really want to race in an individual race but take part together and enjoy the two different sports while taking in some of the other activities of the day
Hi Seren nos,
The Crosby Ironmen are linked to the Ironmen on Crosby beach, they can be seen on the top side of the course and they are well worth a visit before or after the race! We thought best not call it 'Ironman' due to the long distance events confusion.
thanks for that ....it looks an interesting event

Thanks for all the info you have provided, sounds great!
But would it be ok to have a closing date on the event to enter or am i ok to just turn up on the day?
Hi Gunner
Sorry to possibly highlight a big issue but can a colleague who uses a handcycle join in the race? They would probably do the family race due to unable to run in the senior category but would walk then handcycle in the family event, with their family.
Many thanks
M
Hi M,
Silly question but do they own their own hand cycle? Sefton MBC have a number of programmes that sees the use of handcycles. Would your friend need a bike as this is something that we could arrange for you! Not sure how many duathlons could offer that!
Gunner,
Cheers for all the info! looks like its going to be a good event! very interesting! Will the event still go ahead considering the adverse weather conditions? i am just mindful of the transition area if there are high winds and down poor!?
I also see the the company Up and Running is sponsoring the event! what will they be bringing to the event ?
Jon,
With most outdoor activities there will be a cut off if the weather is above and beyond but with the event being held in July we are hoping the wonderful british summer does us proud!
Up & Running are supporting the event and will be there on the day and they'll have a stall located in Crosby Lakeside
http://www.crosbylakeside.co.uk/ironmen-duathlon.html
Lets all hope that the great British weather doesnt let us down and the event runs smooth!
Thats great ! having sponsorship from a company like up and running! As in stall will it be a refreshments stall or an opportunity to buy their products such as running shoes and clothing?
Hi Jon,
Up and Running stall will have running equipment and apparel.
Entries are coming in so please dont leave entering too late.
