Hi UltraB. This will be my first ultra. Training is going fine. I have done 3 marathons and 2 halfs this year + loads of long runs so I'm ready for it. I'm only jogging round slowly anyway. It's a bit of a test to see what it's like really!
I'm also doing Great Barrow Challenge in September so it's good training for that. (4 marathons in 4 days).
Would love to but am not fit after breaking my leg at Xmas. This is my first back. Are you doing it? I think Immune is going to as he is in stonking form after running the VLM 4x in 21 hours in april.
I did a B2B 23 miles on saturday and 21 on sunday. First time in a long time and my leg is holding up well enough to have a go at some speedwork tonight
It is undulating, most of the time will be taken up reading the directions and keeping tabs on whether you have gone wrong so don't think of PBs or anything. Enjoy the day. Take plently of water and electrolyte, particularly if it is hot. Enjoy the bread pudding at the checkpoints, make friends and come for a cider afterwards!
Spoons, don't worry about the taper, I'm rubbish at that too. And a marker is dropped here. Double bank holiday for Jubilee next June. 100 miler from olympic Park round the Green Belt to Windsor......bring it on!
See you all sunday and am really looking forward to this
No chance of avoiding the rain I suspect - Boo. Feeling a bit lethargic tonight so I suspect it'll be a slow poodle round the course tomorrow. Happily I can't remember much from last year so it will feel like a mew race.
great to see you Helen. Fantastic work after the SDW 100 last week. You should have your feet up! I think we got split up over the last 10 miles or so. I got lost again but less so than at mile 16! feels great to be back.
well done all. the 50k is a much better run than the marathon
Feet up, beer in hand. Didn't get lost again though knees a bit sore. Good to see you're back to being ultra again.. The route felt more scenic than the marathon last year, not sure how this year's marathon compares.

Gah! Was planning on doing the 50k but realised I've got a family commitment I can't get out of. Boo!
Are you still planning on doing the Ridgeway again this year UB?
Yeah, I've entered. Should have recovered enough from the Lakeland 100 by then. Not sure I'll be keeping up with Immune though!
Everything okay with your leg now?
