Anyone doing the Barcelona 10k on new years eve? We have booked flights and a hotel, but can't find where to enter the race. There is a website, but it hasn't been updated for a long time,, and says entries are closed.
It was a few years ago but I remember the race as flat, quite fast, great fun in the dark and with a tech T-shirt, given out at the Expo, but no medal.
Hi ATM - well, Ive registered 4 of us - couldn't find translations for most of the fields, but what the heck, they have our names, email addresses and I put my card details in four times! thanks for your help.
I have entered along with my son and husband, its my birthday so is anyone up to meett and have a drink after the race to see the new year in Barcelona?
I wish I was going, this year, Jacqui.I'm sure you'll have a ball. Everyone seems to have dinner about 11 pm, waiting for The Bells. If you want to eat, booking is essential as it's very difficult even to get in anywhere after about 10pm. Eating or just drinking, don't forget to take bunches of (12) grapes to eat as the clock strikes. The whole city seemed to go out partying after about 1 a.m.'Plenty of local swimmers 'taking their first dip of the new year mid-morning, 1st Jan. the year I was there. In the buff, 'hardy lot.
I'm having a panic now, there seems to be two races, ive entered this one, http://www.santsilvestre.com/online.html, and have now found this one, http://www.bcn.cat/cursanassos/en/index.html the 'noses' race that has 10000 runners registered. Cant find us on the list of entrants. Omg, have I managed to enter the wrong race? Can you advise please? Chris.
We are in cursanassos we have checked our names against it, it is difficult as we don't speak Spanish but my web guy does so he helped us with the forms . Good luck let me know how you go on Jacqui
Thanx Jacui, i have indeed entered the wrong race, Ive entered one in San Cugat, in the north suburbs of Barcelona. Am pleading with the organisers to let us register, but entries are closed...

No worries, if we cant get in, we will do the other one. Trying to check the trains , just to check that we can get to San Cugat and back. Not your fault, both races have san silvestre somewhere in the title, both are in Barcelona, both start at 5.30pm , blinking easy mistake to make!
You are so kind, thank you. I sent an email to aac@ubae.cat. Fingers crossed! Cant message you on my ipad, so have to reply here. Please dont feel bad. Its not the end of the world. X
A friend is helping me email them in polite Spanish so that I can explain my part in this.I can't say how sorry I am. Let's hope they haven't gone out for lunch...
It is difficult to get the right one that's why we enlisted help of my Spanish friend or we would have entered your one. Been looking at their website and it looks like well supported race. I hope you get into ours though it would be miles easier for you. If you like I can give you my mobile number & we can meet up to compare experiences if you like. Good luck. Jacqui
The San Silvestre New Years Eve 10k in Sant Cugat is lovely - we entered by mistake, but it all worked out fine. Lovely race, great atmosphere, and easy to get to from Barcelona city area. This is me outside the amazing Medieval Monastery with my race goody bag.

*I wonder if you're looking at last year's site, Harriercat? I've done this one and remember how confusing it was. *
I think you can enter here

HC, can you read ' Messages' or only the main thread?
I can read all messages, but not reply on the ipad. Will put the computer on....
Anyone running in Barcelona this New Year's Eve?
Does anyone know when the registration for the 2013 run opens? Not via Running Crazy, the official registration?
Thanks
