Hi All
I usually post in the sub 4:30 forum - have been for over two years and more recently joined the Brighton Marathon forum as I got a place for April there. However - with your help I might be able to do the Paris Marathon instead of the Brighton!

Amazingly I got picked for boot camp and met some really lovely women in our 'special group' 4 - so lovely infact that 3 others are in two other categories, Nicole, Jade and Jen! We had a nervy but smashing time! Now, I have been lucky enough have got as far as the final 19 and am absolutely delighted!
I thought it might be useful to tell you a little about myself to help you make your voting decision! I am a chemistry teacher at a local comprehensive school, wife to footie mad Michael and Mum to 7 year old Jonny and 4 Year old Reuben.
My mother in law was diagnosed with brain cancer christmas of 2008. This meant that my husband either spent his time visiting his poorly mum or travelling to work all over the UK. I had very little oportunity to exercise so I started running in April 2009 to try and snatch half an hour here and there to keep fit. I managed only 1 mile at first and then in October I completed my first 10k.
We lost Linda July 2009 and in October 2009 (just after my 10k) I got offered a charity place for the VLM by the hospice that cared for her. So training comenced - needless to say it was too much too soon and I got injured (ITB anyone!) but completed in 4:58. Amazingly we managed to raise over £4000 for the hospice and Linda's legacy to me seems to be an addiction to running.
Despite saying 'never again' as I crossed the line I re-applied and this year I got a ballot place and managed to get round injury free in 4:47! My 10k has improved by 10 mins, my 1/2 by 11 but I'm still not making much improvement with a full marathon.
With your help I might be able to get the support to do a sub 4:30 and it would be great to do that in my 40th year!
Thank you!

Thanks Minni!
Ladey-Jadey - I've just posted on your page! Shameless use of a cute doggy - tee hee! Good luck lovely. The Lambrini girls were so the best group! xxx
glad to see you from the sub 4:30.......what is your best 1/2 marathon now
Hi Seren - still 2:01.02 (Feb at Tunbridge Wells) and 2:01.22 (Barns Green in Oct)!
I need to find a flatter race and I am sure that I can hit 9 min miles and get a sub 2 - even if it is 1:59.59 I would be happy! The 2 hours seems to be my sticking point!
How are things with you Seren? Still doing crazy distances?
but if things go right I might still go for a GFA next April........
Good luck I think with the right support you will do well on this
Oh my God Seren - I am just sooooooo in awe! AMAZING! and also slightly mad I think !
I want to try a triathlon next summer - but I'm thinking a SPRINT event! Thinking taking the baby seat of the back of my bike might be a good idea!
A double ironman triathlon - that seems beyond any human power - you ,must be super human!
So Marmite yes or no......
it means alot to some people, so be careful how you answer
and don't answer the marmite question.........its all a trick........
how can you possibly please all the lovers and haters at the same time
Actually I'm quite ambivalent about Marmite, but I thought it would be interesting to see how some people answered the question.............Seren
I have run the Tunbridge Wells HM for the last two years and that hill gets longer I swear.
Is Marmite a euphemism? Thanks for the warning Seren!
My life is mainly just busy - Tonight I am skipping off the school work that I do evenings till 11 or 12 as my brain is scrambled. Four year old up at 4 and the 7 year old up at 5. I am praying that they both sleep well tonight. I have parents evening tomorrow evening so will have to be fuelled by caffine.
Besides Seren - not a busy life - not much 46 mile races and supper triathlon nutty distances!?! Just a bit busy I think! So impressed!
Thank you Knight Rider! There are some quite strong comments flying around on the forums - seems not everyone is happy about the competition!
A pity as I couldn't get over what a lovely bunch of folks were there on Friday - lots of positivity and smiles despite the nerves!
The really speedy runners at my club (2 hour something marathoners) are so lovely and supportive and don't make me feel daft as I am so slow!
Has anyone run the Seaford Mince Pie ten?
Exactly how hilly and muddy is it? I'm running in fancy dress!
