Twas a bit windy in places, but not all around the route - phew!! Was fine once we got started. Oh, and the bacon & egg roll afterwards was absolutely gorgeous - perhaps cos I'd earnt it
The bus - all down to cost, every chip not returned we have to pay for. We take 600 entries & yet only 466 turned up y'day. We can't guarantee that all those not there will return them.
Glad you enjoyed the event. Hear 4k to 6k was tough.
Fair point Mr Weeble - hadn't thought of that. Large amount of no shows at this time of year I guess as well, given the amount of lurgies around and the weather forecast!
4k - 6k was quite tough! Shame really, as this was a last ditch attempt for my 10k target this year, whihc I missed by 16 secs! Alwyas the danger with a flat, exposed course I suppose.
I think the entrance and exit to the airfield has deteriorated quite a bit over the last few years and does slow you up a little as is a bit tricky to take at speed. Has there been any thought of how this could be improved at all? Matting or the like perhaps? Appreciate it's a difficult one though.
Great race, very enjoyable and well organised. Look forward to doing it next year. The airfield didn't seem too bad - a little bit blowy but that was better than last year's ice.
Many thanks to the kind person who found my car key and handed it in - luckily i only realised I had lost it about 5 seconds before so the panic was short lived
It was good to see so many smiling runners - at least, I think they were smiles - from everyone running by that bloke on the ladder on Sunday morning . . photos are online now at . .

Blimey Brian - you were hoping weren't you? Tucked up in bed long before 23.48 the night before a race
Mind you, was a bit odd posting the number but not the chip....

Nightmare to just miss a PB, I'm sure you'll hit it next year
Thanks Mr Weeble...
