I had a problem with my screen, spoke to customer support on Saturday and they sent me a replacement which arrived yesterday and a prepaid sticker for courier collection of faulty one.
I'm trying to work out what i do with my "real" books.... anyone have any idea?
I think that i've convinced my dad about getting a kindle (due to the wifi downloading). I cant live without it: it's a constant travel companion and a great way to pass the time in queues!
My running club does hill training around Broadmoor hopsital. Good 2 mile loop, and great MTBing a few yards away too.The weekly 10am alarm test is a reminder of how close the place is and who is in there.
I'm getting one for Christmas I specifically asked for one without 3G though. I already spend far too much money on books ... having the facility to buy new books wherever I go would probably bankrupt me.
@xine267 - 3G is the one thing that i miss about my kindle at the moment.... i like being on the train and wanting something "new" - even if it's from the freebies!
I did download a load today, mainly free but I realised by mistake I'd ordered a £9.99 book, live chat,I said it was totally my fault but have had it removed and me refunded.
I'm making myself re-read everything that I already have before buying more books am currently re-reading Holgs' book and i'm dreaming about my half ironman aspirations....
Its official: I love my Kindle! I got an Amazon voucher for Christmas so haven't bankrupted myself (yet).
Muttley - I do agree with you, I prefer real books too. If I really love something I would have to buy a hard copy, but I'm running out of space at home and I don't want to end up like Quentin Crisp living in a maze of paper!
I have to compliment Kindle Customer Service. Dad of Jr dropped his bag and his kindle was in it. Whilst the screen itself is not broken, the display is fragmented and unreadable.
After googling, I completed their customer service contact form and they called back within the promised 5 minutes.
As the kindle is outside of warranty, they are sending me a replacement of the same model for £40 and sending me a packet so that I can return the damaged one.
I had researched to see if I could replace the screen myself and they were on ebay but for £50 plus P&P and coming from China so could have been hit by Customs and Excise
I rang them today at 10:17am and a new knidle was despatched at 2:02pm.
I have just been looking throught my kindle library and I have over 140 books that I have read and are now in my archive.
I have gone into My Kindle on Amazon, but it seems I have to delete each book individually ie there is no option to bulk delete.
I have googled and it appears you can run a javascript on google chrome which would allow deletion of 15 books at a time, but I have no idea how to do this. Is there anyone who can provide an idiot's guide to running (?) a javascript.

Given the wifi kindle to my father in law for his 60th this morning.
He had reached the point were there was no wall space left in the house for more shelving, mother in law said that she now intends to reclaim her house

I have kept a few books from Uni.Stroud's Engineering Mathematics is great for propping up the front wheel on the turbo.
+1 for the daily 99p book deal.
I'll look for that FF.

Emmy_bug - I would like being able to do that too, but my bank balance wouldnt' agree!
(I know I'd always START looking at the freebies, and end up downloading something else)

I'm not anti-Kindle by any means, but there is nothing like a real book:

I'm the same - love books but just have no space for them. Add in how much I travel and the Kindle really comes out in it's worth.

You really can't ask for more than that
@Schmunkee - I'm the same! The customer service is absolutely fantastic and quick.
OK, it's me again!
