Who's up for Freckleton Half Marathon in 2012 then?
This will be the 48th staging of the race, and is the oldest in the UK.
It's been listed in the Runners World top races lists for the last 3 years
Entries are now open at ukresults
Although it's still a while away, it will be full by early March
So, if you've not done this one before, why not make Olympic year your first Freckleton?

To all runners out there-
no matter what you ability
Freckelton HM is a superb day out, everyone is catered for - a nice sized field - ample support - almost all the way
give it a go - go on ( we've done it a few times, and i greatly expect we'll return )
good luck always
Mick
Like the race. Dislike the start time.
Count me in for the 50th though!
Look forward to seeing you again Dave.
I may be biased, but I do genuinely think it's one of the best events on the calendar.
I was at a very good race the other day and when I congratulated the Race Director his answer was, "We just try to copy Freckleton"
I took that as a huge compliment
There aren't any hills Shelby.
It's gently undulating that's all.
Why bother changing? just keep the fancy dress on for the afternoon.
No-one will mind in the slightest.
I would suggrst just jogging gently round the Race for Life then you'll be nicely warmed up for the afternoon.
Enjoy
Looking forward to doing this half. Nice start time as I like my lazy Sunday mornings.
Doing the Manchester Marathon in a few weeks so this is great timing to stop me going cold turkey after the marathon.
Congratulations to anyone who has completed a marathon recently.
Especially those who braved the elements in Manchester.
Just a few weeks to go until this one now.
Entries are going very quickly again so make sure to get yours in soon. The limit has been increased but it's still expected to be full by race day
were is Freckelton he speaks of
Who is this man Brian Porter
does he run because i cannot
Compo, thank you for your kind words but I'm not organising it now. Still an excellent day out
LMAO
we'll head over to Compo land sometime for a run- the holmfirth 15 ??
My legs are really sore today. Having a recovery week or two then start training for this one.
Feel like a complete loser now. Should have gone on. Done 100 mile bike rides, half marathons, 23 mile training runs and never failed to finish.
Anyway looking forward to this.
Don't beat yourself up. You did 23 miles in that weather. 23 more than I would have done.
I recently started the Blackpool Marathon. Got to 20 miles and I'd had enough. Better to stop and recover than to push on when you're not right for it.
There will be other marathons but we only get 1 body so we must look after it.
You are not a loser. You are sensible, and therefore a winner.
So, WELL DONE for stopping. It was the right thing
BP
you alright boy

You told me you don't know anything
