Got my 11 mile run in this morning posting a very consistent pace of between 7min 30 and 8min per mile, avg 7min 45 which I am satisfied with for my long run without pushing too hard (fair play to GB and others who can knock out 6 min miles though).
In my rush to get out the door to get my run in I forgot my wallet and will be relying upon the kindness of others to feed myself today, so the planned lunchtime swim is probably off. I really need to get the swimming back on track ASAP.
same as me, but do have an 80 mile sportive on Sunday, with Mrs SA, ironholgs and Cona
I have just entered for Sunday. Very scared as have never done a Sportive before or a ride more than 60 miles for that matter.
Will you have pirate kit on? I would like to hook up with some friendly faces.
Yes will have pirate kit on, we aim to be away in the first few groups, but we will be keeping an easy pace most of the way round, you are move than welcome to hook up on our little group, make a change from Mrs SA sucking my back wheel for the entire 80 miles!
I was just wondering (ie fretting cos I've had a few bad rides the last few weekends), what are people up to for long rides at the moment please, timewise? I know it's wrong to compare really but would just like to get a bit of a feel.
Mouse Been doing plenty of running but not sure that helps the cycling! I've managed 1 "long ride" of 2.5 hrs this year, otherwise nothing longer than 70 mins........just waiting for the longer days when I can ride back from work with a bit of natural light to help see.
I know having a total no training week is doing me good injury wise. BUT I am climbi g up the walls with supressed energy currently speedwalking everywhere )
Know what you mean. I planned on having a strong March a strated really well and came down with manflu on Weds. So my late strat to 'proper'training is even later!!

I managed 4.5 hrs today and it was ok, no terrible bonkiness, though I think there was a slight slowdown at one point on a hill towards the end. I feel a bit happier now.
TSA - if you're doing Wales (?) what about Mrs TSA (does she have a forum name, I forget, sorry?), is she coming back for another go? Also, if you're doing Wales, you're a good couple of months behind us anyway, so have no worries at all.
First 2/3 was too hard on effort and I paid for it on the last 1/3 by having to sit up most of the way home. Everything hurts. My Garmin fell off between Marlow and Henley and the screen is broken
"not training" today consisted of 5 hours gardening/hedge clearing an hour of car cleaning an hour of garage clearing followed by a trip to the dump and an hour and half speedwk with the dogs if i do that every day i wont need to resume training
