Garmin 305 turn off

Hi everyone

Has anyone ever had problems with there Garmin 305?

Recently during a half marathon i found my garmin had switched itself off after 4 miles, which was a big letdown as i could not see how my mile pace was going. Then the other day it happened again on a training run.

Is it just nackered?

Any help would be gratefull

I had the same with my 205 -the display just faded however the watch was still working. Switched it off when i got home, waited an hour and switched it back on again -display ok. My garmin was 4 years old so i have now retired it so to speak. Try contacting garmin support they might be able to help.

how old is it? sound like the battery isn't holding its charge very well. Temperature makes a dfiference. Was it very cold?

Its about 6 to 7 years old QFS
No it was'nt that cold to be honest

I had a 305 Edge which switched itself off - sent it back and got a new one. It was relatively new even tho it was out of warranty. If could reduce the load on the battery by using it with the GPS off, at least you would still get the time,

Sounds like time for a new one tho. Mrs M just got the 310xt - very nice.

My 101 sometimes switches itself if it gets banged - happened a couple of times when I've fallen over, or gone over a bump on the bike.
