Thanks Mouse, it won't be difficult to spot me. I'll be the one heading out on my bike (if I get it right) with my wetsuit still on and my transition bags strapped on my back.
I have honestly never even seen a triathlon so I don't have the first clue what happens in there. I've picked up not to touch my bike until I have my bike helmet strapped, but other than that.........(brain sees 'desolate western town with squeaking sign, rattling shutters and bushes rolling by').
I'll get it off you tube.
In terms of training, sprints are of little value to you at all (when you should be using weekends for more appropriate sessions) and you may as well burn £5 notes. If you wanted to enter sprints to get a feel for what's happening, I'd do them much earlier rather than later. If you have entered a half in May, in my humble opinion, that will be good training AND give you the added benefit of a practice go at sorting yourself out. If you are doing a piratey half, lots of people will talk you through transition in May and if you read relevant parts of Holgs' book, or Friel, or Fink or chat on the training threads we can get you through it. I don't think you need to do those sprints.
I expect there is something on the pirate website that would help you, or maybe we can have a chat on another thread so that we don't derail this one further?
Thanks Mouse, I'll start another 'T' thread. The one I'm doing isn't a pirate half as I'm from Northern Ireland and there isn't too much piratey stuff going on over here.
I thank you for your advice on the sprints and have gladly heeded you on that one lol.
I wouldn't worry about a new thread, I'll meet you in the 2012 training thread.

No, this is still going ahead. I wrote to the suppliers just before Easter to confirm the order. Waiting to hear from them

The stickers he gave me were/are good but, tbh, I think Schmunks' ones will be better and cheaper now!
I can highly recommend his bike stickers! You'll see them on my bike next time we go for a ride!
