  • I was just getting another post together to start the Paddy's day tread.

Thanks for saving me LMH. I do know the lyrics, but only because i just googled them - shame ;-0/. I had better ones lined up - must shelve them till next year!

I might get a swim in later, otherwise rest.

LMH - All the best for Ashby tomorrow.

Little miss Paddy walking in parade today. Hope the rain stays away.

5 weeks tomorrow to VLM. That means two more big weeks training. When there was 16 seems like yesterday!!

  • Mornin' all,

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Weather has taken a turn LMH, well into the tropics now and positively muggy. "Nearly ill?" Good luck with tomorrow's race.

Nice one Gobi, hope the recovery continues.

    Happy Birthday Wabo!

    Enjoy you LSR Dustin.

Rest day here for me but feeling good for the week.
    13 km last night, 10km @ MP.
    65 miles for the week.

    Morning!

    Enjoy, Wabo!

And enjoy St. Patrick's Day anyone who is celebrating.

What: some walking whilst at University past v present race, and then to preside over the AGM...that presidential year went quickly!

Weather report: we have Paddy's rain! Makes a change from the last two days when it has been bitterly cold...think the highest temperature has been 8. Son is up from London for a few days and yesterday he was shivering: he had been sitting in a park sun-bathing on Thursday!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning all,

Happy St. Patrick's day all. Happy birthday Wabo!!

I'm just about over my illness, so will be out on the road tomorrow Which means I can start contributing to this thread in a proper manner! In the meantime...

What: Raising HR by watching the rugby
    Why: It's Grand Slam weekend!
Last Hard: Will probably be later, watching through my fingers
    Last rest: all week

I'm really looking forward to getting back out for a run tomorrow. Actually quite excited by the prospect..is that a bit weird?

    Good mileage Des.

    Paddy - enjoy the parade!

  • Happy St Patricks Day Paddyimage

    Busy today eh

Yesterdays lyrics:Cold Play and 'Charlie Brown'

Nice morning walked Geordie for 65mins. Cold, sunny, .

  • I think it's normal Alex - but then most people would probably say that I wasn't!

Hope the rain holds off Paddy.

Des - I walk a very fine line between health and ill health due to a couple of chronic medical conditions - and I was getting perilously close to crossing it as VLM approaches and run volume has increased. Need to stay well and get the last couple of long runs in.

    No rain here Alehouse.

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Happy St Patricks Day

A wet Newbury parkrun in 21:06, only 4 secs slower than last week on a harder course so very happy. Plus some extra miles too. A big difference to yesterdays run which was awful, with 2 pit stops and generally feeling crap....... so the parkrun followed by cake coffee and friends was good.

    Take care

    Afternoon all,

Welcome back Alex. Hope all goes well for the comeback.

    Happy Birthday Wabo!

    Happy St. Patrick's day.

Paddy - all sounds good. Take care of yourself.

RFJ - always nice to do well in spite of conditions. Well done.

Me? 12 miles errand run, in drizzle. Long run but not desperately hard. Need to work on fueling/medication strategies, but getting some confidence that it will all work. I have a conjecture that hitting the wall occurs when ordinary (non pd people) run short of dopamine. Does anybody know if anyone has looked into this? Oh yes, other things are factors, undoubtedly, but it would be interesting for all that to find out.
