Thanks for the heads up Muttley. Mother has been asked to go and pick up some socks for me prior to her Easter visist (no Aldi close to us). Can never have too many socks!
I've been waiting for the ALDI running stuff for ages. Apart from decent shoes, I refuse to spend money on expensive kit and for the last couple of months have been running in various ensembles of unravelling threadbare rags whilst waiting for this deal to roll round again.
I've got a long shopping list for Thursday morning!
I'm just back from Aldi and have disappointedly posted a new thread about how rubbish their kit has become. Their £7 lycra leggings used to feel like a £30-40 pair, now they feel more like a £3 pair! I bought loads of stuff but am heading back out later on to return almost all of it. Bah!
It is a bit hit or miss, r-w-d, but I guess that's what we should expect for the price - I've ditched their leggings before and stuck with the Ron Hills. Their jackets are erratic as well. It's all very well refusing to pay for the brandname stuff but sometimes that is the better value course.
Good stock at my local branch this morning. Acquired one pair of shorts and two pairs of socks. Their socks are amazing. All my expensive sock brands like Thorlo etc have over the years turned a filthy grey colour and/or been holed by my big toes but the Aldi (and Lidl) socks not only survive mile after mile on my feet but still look decent. They are indestructible.
For the price I guess I can't complain, but their leggings just used to be so much better quality. Like you say, almost indestructible. I'm still running in ones that I bought 4 years ago and while they are starting to look a bit tatty round the edges, they've outlasted several pairs of more expensive big name brand pairs I picked up here and there in sales. But yes, I picked up a couple of pairs of socks today and they seem as good as ever...
