What: LSR Why: it's my birthday and I'll run if I want to! Last hard: 22/1 Last rest: 3/3
Awoke to the sound of rain but it seems to be clearing which is good as our proposed route takes up along the old railway path out to Robin Hood's Bay then back to Whitby along the Cleveland Way. Looking forward to it in a masochistic kind of way - not an easy or fast run but beautiful, and I intend to take the time to appreciate it.
Happy Easter.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
Paddy: didn't think it was carbohydrate loading time quite yet...and weren't these lyrics used the other day?!
MadameO: sorry to read such sad news.
Not good news here, either: father-in-law has been given 48 hours to live and an "end of life" plan has been put in place. Over the last few weeks he has become terribly weak and now has a chest infection: he has lost the will to live, and, indeed, seems determined not to, pulling out his drips etc. All very sad, but perhaps a relief for him in some ways: until about 10 years ago he was a pretty decent runner, but then had a stroke two hours into what would have been his usual Saturday three hour run and lost the use of his left leg. He has been in a care home ever since, and for one so active I imagine that being confined largely to one room has not been great.
What: unsure Why: the above, plus achilles is not good at all, just when I thought there were major improvements. Ah well, let's get things into perspective.
Steady on the eggs, everyone.
Edit: Happy Birthday LMH! A nice place to be enjoying the day!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
LMH - Happy birthday!! Enjoy your Long Scenic Run!
Paddy - Good egg-ness.
Possibly a rest day today. But may get out for a run, as I've only had 1 run this week and the weather forecast for tomorrow is hideous! Looking forward to some chocolate later!
What: Possible rest Why: Legs a bit mashed from cycling/swimming Last hard: Thursday Last rest: Wednesday Lyrics: yes
Ale:- My own father was a fitness fanatic - maybe too much so. He got sick and was confined to quarters for a long time leading up to the end. Ironic thing was his heart was so strong it kept him alive longer than expected.
It ended up being long drawn out. All the best to the family.
Alehouse/Madame O - Sorry about your respective news
LM Happy Birhday enjoy your run
What: 3.08 miles time trial Why: roads clearer due to it being Easter Sunday and the shopping centre being closed aiming to beat 29 minutes - 29:59 Last Hard that was Lyrics: Even if they were recent, still clueless

Did 6.5 easy miles yesterday afternoon, a favourite route looping around the canal. Cool in the breeze but no complaints.
It ended up being long drawn out. All the best to the family.
