Welcome Felixa! You are added to the magical spreadsheet
Ratzer, you might not think you are fast, but you are the fastest person on my spreadsheet. That makes you speedy fast in my books!
I note themp is looking at a 3:05, so I'll be hoping to be right on his heels (I've decided not to risk pushing for anything faster on my 2nd mara). But in real terms CC2 is far faster!
Lovely set of 400s last night to blow the jitters out of the legs. I can't wait to get into short, fast summer training!
Not posted much recently as work has gone horribly wrong and it looks like I will be made redundant on the 26th April. I has certainly taken my mind off the big day
Still been training but have picked up bit of a cold, hopefully I can shake it off before next weekend.
Oh, that's horrible Tommygun. So sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will turn out to be one of those things that works out for the best in the long run. Rest up, let your cold get better and then take out all your frustration on miles 20 - 26.2 next Sunday.
What is it with pre-marathon illness, I went down with a cold/ flu mid-week, maybe my swim, cycle, run over the weekend was too much.
Several days on the sofa, now hopefully I'm on the road to recovery and have a week to build my strength back up. Let's hope it will work out well on the day
((Jordie)) never fear you still have over a week to go, take care of yourself and you will be fit and strong come next Sunday, the extra rest will probably do you good
Me too! decided to have a lie in & pretend I was running in Paris just behind the leaders, about 7 miles behind actually... Only doing 6 miles later...
I've got a very busy week next week so I will try to continue to pop in but might not be able to make everyday.
Jordie, pre-marathon illness is normal. It's because you have worn your body out with all the hard training and your immune system is weak. That's why taper is so important as it gives your body time to regain strength. Otherwise you would be going into your marathon feeling at your worst. Have confidence that it will be alright on the day.
Tommygun, that's really bad timing with the news, but I guess there is never good timing for that sort of thing.
