dont know london at all stayin at the barbican thistle hotel.... when you say stations do you mean train or tube.... we near kings cross? am heading for blue start at blackheath!
if you're staying at the barbican - is barbican tube your closest tube?
check out the rail and tube map:

Barbican tube station is in D3.
What start are you in?
I'm sure there will be loads of crowds at the main train stations (London Bridge might be the closest one to you). But getting round London is a whole lot easier if you rely on yourself only and have taken just a few minutes to work out your route.
Once you get to the train station for your start - THEN you can follow the crowds to get you to the start area.
oh sorry - didn't see your post - you're in the blue start.
Best route (depending on where you hotel is and which tube is closest) is:
going to Barbican station. Getting circle line (going east) one stop to Moorgate.
Changing at Moorgate to the Northern Line (going south) to London Bridge
Then at London Bridge go upstairs to the rail station and get a train heading to Blackheath.
Shouldn't take you long.
