A new event different race formats for this year at Parc Bryn Bach, Tredegar. Saturday 30 June
Choice of any or all of the three events. First up a Super sprint eliminator 400m, 10k, 2k. 3 heats & you get ranked by time into the approrpriate final. Then everybody races in their final (3 finals) Yes everybody gets to race twice. 
Depending on the numbers, we will have an 'A' final, a ladies final and a 'B' final. same distances. - all closed roads!
Next up are the 'Big Swims' choice of 750m, 1.5K or 3K - mass start but 1, 2 or 4 laps.
To finish the day a team relay, team of 3 male, female or mixed, same courses (400m, 10k, 2k) National relay format, so 1st member swims & then tags 2nd swimmer who tags 3rd swims who tags the first out onto the bike etc.
We'll be using a modified course that has been used by the British Super Series for a number of years. It will great event for experienced racers but also suitable for novices & the distances make it do-able for the younger athletes.

The venue
We've had a meeting with a potential new sponsor, they will almost certainly be on board for this year but are hoping to make a long term committment to NEWT events at Parc Bryn Bach.
Their involvement will allow us to put on an even better day of triathlon & open water swim racing. We hope to make a formal announcement very soon.
Course & venue issues to be sorted last week, great news this week. Event organisation certainly has its ups & downs.

Absolutely gutted, but unfortunately last night we took the decision to cancel our tri festival fo this year. Not sure of the reasons but we have been unable to attract the required numbers for us to host the event.
We are not daunted and we are already in the process of planning Pikebait 2013. We've booked the park for Sunday 30th June 2013.
Really very sorry for those that had entered, you will of course get a full refund, and a discount for next years event. I'm assuming we will honour the free places next year.
