Thought I might gatecrash this thread if you don't mind. Although I have no Ironman plans at the minute I have a couple of reasons why this thread interested me.
1. I live in Norfolk
2. I have just bought a bike, taken up swimming, joined a tri club and signed up for my first (super spring in a pool) triathlon.
Although I am completely new to tri I have run a little bit in the past.
I'm sure in the near future you'll be wishing you never stopped to chat, that will be the same time your signing up for your first IM just to make Gas happy, and get him off your back

Hi Spoons. Welcome aboard.
"Although I have no Ironman plans at the minute............." I suggest you get some, before gas does it for you!!
When's your tri?
Oooooh. Can you put it on youtube?
I live in Norwich. Which club have you joined, i'm with Tri-Anglia.
My next Tri is Fritton Lake in a couple of weeks.
I'm doing that, i used to live in North Walsham, my mum still lives there.
I didn't have plans to swim, but am drinking too. And watching the rather lovely specimens in The Two Towers.
NO, not Gimli.
I used to live in NW too!
NR - must be those hobbits then?
Victory will be a good one, I've done 2 events organised by active outdoor sports this year & both have been great, really friendly atmosphere.
At least you're not watching CCTV of me , got to watch that M...eldy, she's a sneaky witch

BrokeBTing - the honest truth is I like marathons , I've been on my bike about 3 times, the longest ride was 28 miles, and I liked that.
But - I don't really like the swimming. It's too much like hard work
Your LOTR list is gradually getting shorter. You'll get there eventually
Stick with the swimming. You'll soon be gliding gracefully and efortlessly through the water, just like the rest of us.
Warmer
Gandalf?
Nah, best not go there again
Tepid
That was to do with swimming?
Oh.
so NR, Aragorn vs. Legolas vs. Boromir?
That minute has long past .... which one do you fancy?
Rafi ... I have Marlow in my sights as we speak!
Got it in one. And all three of the lovely boys too. Well done
Can you tell I don't go for the overly groomed look?
overly groomed implies vainity to me
or, maybe im just scruffy
Meldy - think I'll do my pool tri first before making a bigger commitment
Back to the subject of drinking.
Do most people bin it while training for an event?
