This morning I woke up at 5.30am, pretty lively and alert and decided to take the plunge and go out running on the streets! I did my session 2 of week 5 of couch to 10k and it felt amazing (seriously). I don't know how fast or how far I managed to cover in the 58min session but I do know; the time flew by, it's so peaceful at that time of the morning, running in the drizzle was lovely rather than the super sweaty gym, and after feeling very self concious and shy for about the first 5 minutes I felt fine and enjoyed it
Just a little happy post
PS My bum hurts lots and lots lol!

well done!
Congrats and don't worry about pace or distance for now, just getting each session done while you're training for your first 10k is all that really matters, once you've got a time for that, then you can worry about trying to beat it.
many congrats. covering the distance is far more important than timing,
hey i was out at 5am- beat you by half hour!!! it rocks doesnt it, its just lovely not to see anyone, not to have to stop for traffic, hoardes of kids. and the temp is great
Thank you
Quite looking forward to going out on Saturday now
Considering my working life has involved getting up early, I've never really been happy about it ... every extra second in bed counts so do majority of my training in the evening, kind of feel I'm missing out on the early morning runs though.
I always used to go to the gym early on a morning but got out of the habit. I feel exercising on a morning gives me an energy rush that see's me through the day. Although I do feel like I am living off adrenalin atm lol!
well done for joining the rest of us 'outsiders' !
Well done Siany7. Nothing wrong with gyms and treadmills etc. and in the winter they are really useful but there is something special about running outside early in the morning. I was out at 5.40am this morning and saw 4 deer, too many squirrels and rabbits to count them, well without stopping al the time. 1 other runner and 3 dog walkers.
Thank you, I have been out today (struggling) with OH (who I am sure is a gazelle), in a park during the afternoon... and people were there! Again had some nerves before I started and for the first few repititions, then I didn't care.
Really felt the pressure on my joints today mind, but this has only been my second run outside so far so will just keep an eye on it.
don't feel that you need to keep up with your gazelle - if you go too fast your joints will hurt and you could end up injured, keep it nice and slow.
Makes me sick, barely runs himself, last time he ran he went 5k and that was 6 months ago. Came with me today and he was off like a rocket and barely broke a sweat or got out of breath... argh lol!
keep up the training and you will get there.
bounce!
Tried to get up at 4am to go for a run ...failed ...better luck tomorrow...
Well done for going outdoors you have picked the right time of year, even the rain is nice and warm ...
