This is the deal. You can travel in time, but you've got no control over where you end up. You have to stay there for at least 24 hours and can take no modern technology with you. It is possible for you to die/be injured/etc. but you're actions won't have any lasting effect on the present/future.
Would you do it?

Hell Yes!
(Have you seen The Twilight Zone episode on the plane that goes back in time?)
I'd like to travel to the future, is that allowed.
Travelling to the past can be quite safe if you chose carefully.
That sounds like a good story Mr Puffy!
Definitely! Specially if it's far enough that there is no interenet or phones!
In a time before spam
Do I have to come back? *floats off*
The far flung future please, when Andromeda and our own Milky Way come together, or perhaps back to 1981 New York, when I could shout look out Mr Lennon he has a gun.
Or the time between dinosaurs, to see what there was then - or to the Tower of London in 1483 to see what really happened to the two Princes.
There's loads isn't there?
Sarah 'just married' bookworm wants to go back in time?
Sarah wants to go forward to check stuff because the babynames thing is already causing problems...
I'd love to see what the past was really like. Anytime, anyplace. Were humans actually less intelligent back then, or simply as misguided as they are now?
Maybe I'm overthinking this but if I've understood the premise correctly, I'm travelling through time, not space*, at anywhere along the Earth's time-line, most of which involves the planet being utterly inhospitable (if it's here at all; is the time-line extended all the way in both directions to the Big Bang and the Big Crunch, or whatever's going to happen??) , and depending on the conditions I find myself in, you say I could die?
Er, then my answer is "no".
If there are all sorts of Bill & Ted safeguards in place and I only ever get transported to a particular time and place which allows me to interact with wonderfully glorified depictions of famous people in history NOT being complete megalomaniacal bastards, I might change my mind.
*It's already getting too complicated, given the nature of the space-time continuum, hence the two can't really be separated. I could be sucked straight into a black hole as soon as you pressed the button, which wouldn't be nice I wouldn't have thought. Not that I'd know much about it.
Mushroom, anyone?!
PhilPub auditioning for the role of the next doctor!!!
Phil, if you were travelling through time and not space, you'd probably end up in space! The Earth and everything else around it in the universe having moved on just a slight few million miles... Overthinking, indeed! Not mushroom for error... I'll get my coat.
Bodwyn for a boy, and Bodwyn for a girl
Hmm, I did say 'where you end up' rather than when. I was going along the lines of time and space being a continuum, made up of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff
yeah i'd have a go not having modern tech would be quite nice for a bit
I'd go back to about the late 1800s, with some gold and jewels to convert into local currency, and make my way to my hometown to find out something that puzzles us with regard to the census records for some of my ancestors.
Other than that the 1920s or the 1940s/50s.
