Just joined this race after finishing the Manchester Marathon and starting to miss having a target. I can't wait... I suppose I should start to train again.. Two weeks off after the worst DOMS I've ever experienced... Agony!!
Congrats on the Manchester marathon BigChief, hope injury has cleared up soon!
Really looking forward to this race again.... need to get back into training though, seemed to have lost my training mojo a bit since the high of completing my first mara at Brighton.
Note on the race web site and Facebook says this race is full.
Not sure about teansfers this time. I don't think they're allowing transfers because the entry limit was raised this year to accommodate more demand for places
yes, the time is very handy otherwise I'm generally restricted to Cheshire and Merseyside races or stopping in a B&B, although Stafford 20 miler starting at 11am is also a good one for me.
well its impressive dedication to running. And your in luck that th eFreckleton HM is a really good race and from my experience well organsied, with a good crowd turnout. So im sure you think it was worth it.
Due to the heavy rain over the last week the start area is currently very wet. We are working very hard this afternoon (Saturday 16th June) to find an alternative start that is safe and retains the correct distance.
Whilst we are making every effort to retain the full distance, we may have to stage the event over a slightly shortened course this year. We hope it does not come to this but wanted to alert you to the possibility sooner rather than later.

Off out on my bike now in the rain to see what I can come up with
Hopefully we can get confirmation of the distance tomorrow morning, I'm after a PB so if the race is going to be short I'll probably stay at home, run a 16-20 LSR and treat my Dad to a Fathers Day meal.
i have treid to make contact with you- but since u last rang my mobile, it only keeps numbers in for so long
i was simply going to suggest
which i will tomorrow if i catch u early enough - why dont u just measure the grass bit from start to half way up tarmac drive out -
Start it there - turn the runners left out of park, ( cones in middle of road, measure half the distance of start to end of grass, and turn runners around at that point on cones, run them back along road past park gates and ure done that then
??? i bet the police with ok that, it'll be done early in race and done with
Well thanks for the encouragement Jac k 4!!!!!!!!!!!
What would you rather? We spend our time productively doing our very best in horrendous weather to get this right, or waste our time farting around on here giving you meaningless information?????????
Presumably in your case the latter!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were on the course until 110pm last night when the light defeated us.
People have been out since 7am this morning.
I aam going there now (would have been on the course but you want an update).
Rant over. i am going to see now whether we have a certified (yes I have certified the shorter route) of 12.871 miles or a certified 13.109 miles.
No more updates on here. All further updates will be on our Facebook pages.
Mick n Phil, thanks for that. We did have a look at it last night but is too tight I'm afraid.
Alan, I like your style Unfortunately I think i'll get a pw even on 12.871 Please come and say Hello later.
The weather is much improved today and tghe race will go ahead as planned over the full distance. The areas of concern have dried out considerably and further improvement is expected as we approach race time. Not been an easy 24 hours for the organisers but we've got there in the end.

Does anyone know any good trail routes or just some wooded paths etc not to far from the Freckleton/Kirkham area?
Dave123, message me. If you're local i can take you round some trail routes in the area
So everybody set for Sunday ?
P.S any one looking for routes shuold try RunningAhead.com its free and ad free,
As set as someone can be when they are travelling from North Wales and relying on public transport on a Sunday!
really! Public transport all the way from Wales! how come ?
No car, simple as that.
Bus to Chester, train Chester to Warrington, train Warrington to Preston, bus Preston to Freckleton. What can possibly go wrong, eh?
well yes what could go wrong lol your have to have a can of Dr Pepper just as you set off lol
Would offer to pcik you up at preston but there is already five of us in the one car he he
So i guess the 2 pm start is more of a necessary than a nice change for you
