Ian and his band of merry people have been good with us for the last few years since the 1st race. Just wondering as most will be doing Henley as the champs race, or Lanza! Are we still organising a posse for the feed station or just moving on?
I posted a reply on another thread yesterday, personally I would like to see the Pirate feedstation as an enduring aspect at Outlaw. Its the biggest UK race and think it reflects well on us to give something back.
I also think that by giving something to others we reap the benefits in the support you get as a pirate, ive been to races all over and had complete strangers shouting for me, that counts for a lot and I think the support we give to others (including the feedstation at Outlaw) reaps this payback. Its also good fun
Its early days yet but id imagine we'll need to canvass for support in the new year, I know a number of people have already said theyre keen to help.
Next year id like to make it even bigger and better, akin to one of the Ironman feestations you get on the continent, ive a few ideas up my sleave
Don't be ridiculous! na not for me next year, got other stuff i want to do, and can't fit it all in. Will defo go for full distance in the future though
I also posted on this years Support Thread that we hope for The Pirate Feed Station to continue and although Barley and I are happy to organise it in the run up to the day, we would like to hand over responsibility of the day itself to others so that we may see Pirates and non-Pirates over the whole course as we have not so far been able to do so
Was thinking the run, eek! Putting a team together with Colourin, hopefully. Defo wouldn't want to do the swim, as i'm sooooooo slow i'd worry about missing the cutoff, lol. You going for it Razor?

Its in my diary already. I had to much fun this year that I can't wait. Might be up for a swim leg in the relay, or might spend the whole day on the support station.
did my first ironman at Outlaw this year and the experience was made for me when in setting up my tent early on Friday I inadvertantly pitched in an area that would became irrisistable to the hoardes of arriving pirates over the next 36 hours! Many people came over to introduce themselves , chilli bean , seren mis, troggs , I could go on and on , and (after witnessing some ritual aound a very ornate box of chocolates!) we all went down to registration on the Saturday morning.
I was racing two years ago when Outlaw wasn't an official sailing and the support from the Pirate station was phenomenal. I'll be more than happy to go and help give something back next year, and I'm sure there will be some guys doing the race, too.
I tried to help early on in the debacle , but after a while it was obvious that some instructions would have helped, and when the solution became apparent it was a beautiful thing !
Seren , I remember you , and your hat! I read through a lot of the post outlaw stuff and laughed out loud for ages at the '' swim bike ambulance' T-shirt competition. Other than that , I ran on the day in a Raven shirt named after Robert 'the Raven' Kraft who has run 8 miles a day every day for the last 37 years on South Beach Miami and who was a inspiration to me, he also swims about a quarter of a mile at the end of every run between the life guard towers.
Races , I would like to do Outlaw again and the Newby Hall half distance in Sept, and the 999 sprint tri at Holme pierre point again , and of couse the Leeds Tri and the Leeds xpress tri, and maybe some othes...

Lee.....what's wrong with doing the whole thing....
Which bit are you going to do.
I think there are still going to be a number of pirates doing outlaw next year so the support station would be good..............
Yeah, I've got unfinished business with Outlaw, so that will be my A race next year.

Being a pirate would be great....
Ian .... not sure about that as you did stnad and laugh at 5 of us trying to sett up Mr Z's tent!!
If you're racing........who are people going to throw bottles at ........??
Ian....brilliant .you need to think of a forum name to change to.....
then just buy some kit and join in the banter.........what races are you planning on next year

I don't think instructions are the Pirate way.....unless its 'Last orders at the Bar!!'
How did you race go anyway, you looked in good form when I saw you at the feedstation!!
Fancy Lanza next year.....??
the tent erection only looked a mess as there was no woman in charge of the job
rafi........i am sure i could accurately aim a bottle or two at you head
