I had roast pork dinner.............i would never bother if i was on my own but the family all enjoy it...........i would prefer chilli and rice or similar............
shame about your dinner fail.........sounded good but thats the way experimenting with food goes
Was a bit stuck today. You know when you don't quite know what you fancy? Went for a veggie toad in your hole with mushy peas and it worked well. Made monster portions and all got eaten.
A two meal strategy today with breakfast at Jamie Olivers on a rare Sunday when I wan't running.
Parents came for Sunday lunch. I made salmon parcels, new potatoes and salad. Yum. But, even better - a massive trifle for desert. Massive. Loads. Now, I'm very sad as I'll have to eat the rest all day tomorrow. Hard times.
We always used to have a Sunday roast. We stopped doing it when Sundays got (even) shorter due to running/other stuff on the have to list. Somehow anything else just feels like being short changed, no matter how yummy. Except pizza. Pizza will always be food of the gods.
How many here still have parents for whom Sunday isn't Sunday without a roast, my mother is no exception. Doesn't understand when I have anything other than a roast to eat!

This is a bit reminiscence of the thread about turning into your mother. I agree that Sunday should be roast - it should also be at least 4 people for that roast.
I usually have a roast on Sundays, even when there's just the two of us. Can't beat a nice leg of lamb, roast potatoes, lots of veg.....
Yesterday I had the family round and DIDN'T do a roast, which was just as well as they got delayed on the way and were an hour late. A roast would have been severely over-done.
Last night's dinner was chips, followed by a two hour jaunt down the motorway (in a car I might add...). I love a nice roast - chicken is a firm favourite, lamb is nice occasionally, and roast beef I can live without.
Sunday roast is the general rule in our house, just for the two of us. Usually followed by leftovers (sometimes used in an inventive manner, sometimes just as cold cuts) on monday. Makes 2 days of the week easy to plan for...
Except tonight is going to be pie & chips because we were out at a bbq on Sunday.

Hmmm I wish I'd eaten with either of you. I've just *had* to eat a bowl of ice cream to compensate
I had curry. It was better than the last one I did.
I went for the two meal strategy today too, the other meal being breakfast.
Having pizza later
Homemade pizza om nom nom!
an old childhood favourite, tuna pasta bake. Yum!

I'd love a roast dinner but just never have the time...

I have to go to asda...I have nothing in the fridge for tea tonight! But I really don't want to go out!
Is there nothing in the cupboards you could rustle up if you won't want to go out?
Yes - it's called La Tasca and a 20% discount card!

Lol, had to google that, we don't have one round these parts
Chilli tonight (made yesterday by hubby), must get off my bum and go for a run first though.
Spaghetti bolognaise but no parmesan because the housekeeper has failed.
oranges are grapes for supper
I finished work at 10pm last night, so I had a kebab with chilli sauce for supper.
