I would think wave 1 are the racing-snakes...wave 2 the fair-to-middling ones and I am in with the 'stop for a picnic on the way round' crew as wave 3.
Hey IKFY - my sister would love your number...I do worry about taking someone else's number but do you think it would be ok? I see that we have to collect the numbers at the start...are you male or female...because if you are male and they see my sister - who is obvioulsy female...they might get confused
Betty, Maybe I should be in Wave 3 also- I thought there were only 2 waves last year...
Woohoo - I'm in wave 1, which must mean I'm officially a racing snake......
Really looking forward to this one now, and hopefully the weather will be kind and not make the conditions too bad. Having said that, I enjoy splashing in muddy puddles
YP - just found out its got kissing gates and other nonsense in Pretty annoyed as this was billed as a fast race and it clearly isnt going to be.
Still going to run it, but was going to be touch and go for a pb, but no chance now I fear with puddles, the new twisty start and stopping to open gates!
I'm planning to decide on the day between using this as chance to do a 13miles marathon paced effort, or racing it to see if I can get a PB. Either way, it's a stepping stone for me en route to the marathon in Sept, and hopefully it won't be peeing down for a change
Curly...I've run the Marlow to Cookham section of that stretch a million times, there's about 10 gates to get through...loads of bogginess if any kind of rain fall, and some lovely Cows to get past.

YP Wave 1 - was aiming for 1:40 but like you may just slack off and run it to HMP effort (which I would expect given the terrain to be about MP in outcome).
Nevermind going to do the Battersea 10k on 4th August as a race instead - fast, flat and laps - my fav sort of course
Muttley - by some reviews I had read prior to entering Next time I will read into it more fully before I enter some unknown race.
Does anyone know what mile we hit Bourne End at? I need to give my spectators a rough time of arrival at Bourne End so they can have their Sunday morning lie in (wimps)
So, looks like the sun will be shining so just the mud under foot to worry about. Should be a good laugh... like a few people I'm using this as a training run so makes a change not to have a pb to worry about - beats pounding the pavement AGAIN on a Sunday too. See you all there!
Wave 2 by the way... said I'd do it in 1:50 - but reading the reviews would be happy with a sub 2hrs now!
Does anyone know the person who register for a run and cant run for some reason. I was waiting to join the run to last minut and now entries are closed.
I'm in wave 2 - said I'd run 2 hours. That would be a PB for me, but it may depend on how much mud there will be. I'm hoping 2-3 dry days and some sunshine will dry up the mud.

I still have a place on this up for grabs if anyone wants it. It's free too.
Hi IKFY,
Which wave are you in? My sister was looking for a place but she is slow and would be in Wave 2.
Caroline
oh Caroline...be gentle...they've put me in wave 3! LOL!!
Erm excuuuuuuuuuse me but I'm in wave 2
ooh have I made a mistake...is wave 3 the quick ones?
Oh god - I can't get out of this can I...Muttley have they accidently put you in the wrong wave?
They put me in the "slow" wave 2... would be fine?

Im after a place if anyone has one please
We can transfer I think. I asked them about it and they said all I need is the following:
Full name
Dob
Club (if any)
Address
Email
Contact number
Estimated time
Medical conditions (if any)
If it's too late to swap the name then never mind, she can buy some stilts and pretend to be me. PM me the info and I'll sort it out.
Hi IKFY - I tried to message you but it says that 'This user does not accept messages'? Do you have to change something on your profile?
Caroline, the correct term is not "slow" but "endurance athlete", if you don't mind
indeed Muttley...I am one of those also...

In wave 2 - planning to run around 2 hours. Praying/hoping that the course dries out so I can wear my regular road running shoes

Sorry, box is ticked now. Try again
Yep thanks IKFY, - message is sent

What more could you ask for
When was this billed as a fast race? Flat and scenic, yes, but not fast unless my memory is letting me down.

I really wanted a place to run on this, not worried about a time, just wanted to help a friend who is running her 1st half whos alittle nervous.

Lesboss we should be at mile 9 when we get to Bourne End (or there abouts). That's where my supporters will be as well.
Hope the mud dries out by Sunday!!
Have heard from local friend that the mud is BAD. Bring it on......I am in Wave 3 and will be enjoying the view .
